The skies were as clear as Tunes could see, a bright vibrant cerulean that promised nice days to come. Tunes smiled as she rode down the road leading out of Azalea town, humming a song she would not dare sing out loud.
She was flying down the path as fast as she could peddle. After several days cooped up in the little mellow town, she was excited to get somewhere else, to train and start another adventure of some sort. Azalea town was fine, and the people were very hospitable, but it was just too quiet for her and her team. But that should have been expected with a town known for its Slowpoke. She was hoping to find something more exciting in Goldenrod City; she had heard promising things, anyway.
Agitated by the monotony of the bike ride, Lemondrop poked her head out of Tunes' breast pocket and sighed impatiently. The Pikachu was smaller than most pokedolls: at only six inches tall, she fit in Tunes' half-jacket pocket with space to spare. Impatient and bored, she scrambled out of her trainer's pocket and scurried up her arm. Tunes glanced at her as the Pikachu rested on her shoulder.
"You're going to fall off," she warned.
Lemondrop stuck her tongue out, and Tunes rolled her eyes. Both she and her trainer knew that her falling off was as likely as her being struck with a falling asteroid. Tunes just didn't like her running around when she was pedaling.
"Fine. But don't distract me," Tunes muttered. "If I wipe out at this speed, it's straight back to Azelea Town!"
Lemondrop grimaced, and she turned, scurrying down the girl's back and perching herself on the end of the bike seat. There she sat, content to watch the road race away from her in silence. It was a more interesting view than the front.
The road got bumpy, and the tiny Pikachu clutched the bike seat tightly. She thought she was fine, but as Tunes' back tire caught a bump that the front tire didn't, she was thrown from the bike seat and sent onto the side of the path, landing in a patch of flowers taller than she was.
Lemondrop laid there for a minute, stunned, before she picked herself up, shook herself off, and looked around. She was in the middle of a large field on the side of the road; the grass and flowers rose far over her head, and she could not see the trail. "[Oh, crap... Tunes! TUNES!]" she cried, running madly through the grass in search of the road.
She didn't find it. Instead she ran right into a Poochyena, who, upon seeing the tiny Pikachu, licked its lips and sneered. A cold chill ran down Lemondrop's spine, and she turned, dashing back into the grass with the dark puppy Pokémon on her heels. A swift bolt of lightning ended the chase, but it attracted more attention than it was worth, and the tiny Pikachu ran madly through the grass as other Pokémon began chasing after her, either for food or for sport.
A string of impressive curses rolled off the tiny Pokémon's tongue as she tried in vain to outrun her attackers. Finally she was pinned to the ground, and the group of small Pokémon collapsed on her. She was lost among it as she tried to avoid snapping jaws and swinging paws.
They had tackled her right next to the road, though Lemondrop was not aware of it, and as she summoned a large lightning bolt it ignited some of the surrounding plants. The Pokémon let out pained howls and growls as they were thrown aside; most turned and ran off, while some were completely incapacitated, either form fainting or from paralysis. Lemondrop rose unsteadily from the fray and hobbled away, but she collapsed back to the ground at the edge of the path, badly injured. "[Tunes... Don't leave me here....]"

The skies were calm, only small gusts here and there, which were no match for her abilities as she glided through the air on her usual patrol, keeping close to her trainer's camp by ear as she kept the music within earshot.
Everything on ground seemed just as calm as well, Pokémon here and there, none making their way to the camp, though if they did, Austrays would be on them in moments with her full steel body-weight in a freefall dive. She saw a trainer on a bike, riding down the road aside to the forest, her keen eyes making out every detail of ther girl's clothes; Green vest, green cargoes, and a khaki shirt. Austrays kept on her way, not wanting to waste time that should be kept keeping her oblivious trainer out of harm's way.
She had her eye on a small ekans, which seemed to be making it's way to the camp, readying herself to crush it under her if it got too close, but her attention was broke as a flash of yellow light broke the calm of the day. Her thoughts were instantly gone from her as her instinct took over, skewing her wings to make a sharp curve in the sky, making an amazing blaze towards the scene.
She then zoomed in on a small yellow pikachu, very small, to be added. The yellow rodent was in a full scurry with a motley crew of wild Pokémon at its heels. She only watched expectantly as the yellow thing was tackled to the ground, abotu to become another part of the circle of life, but a burst of white lightning cut from the ground to the sky, which would have dropped her out of the sky, were she of lesser season.
Now curious at the scene before her, she began to swoop down, already knowing the pikachu would be in no fighting shape after that sort of blast. Her assumption was proved correct, landing with a crunch of the dirt beneath her, a mere few feet away from the tiny thing. She sauntered over to it's side, easily overshadowing it as she looked down at it, waiting to see if it was even alive...

She heard the steel bird's approach before she saw it. Her fur prickled on her shoulders and with a rush of adrenaline she shot up, tail and ears perked and cheeks sparking with electricity. She glared down the Skarmory valiently, despite her shape. "[Don't come any closer!]" she spat.
But her façade couldn't last. Her hind legs trembled under her own weight, and there was the slightest hint of a shake in her voice. But her gaze was blazing, and she met the strange Skarmory's eyes as if she was a luxray. This may be it, but the rebelious Pikachu was not going without a fight.

Her head merely tilted, would this little thing really rush into a situation it would obviously lose? She straightened her posture as the words came from the tiny thing, chin held up some as if ready to take the skies at a moment's notice. She knew it would only take a good couple screeches and an air cutter to take this one down.
But she felt communication may yield a better option, the display it showed earlier was at least worth that. Without moving from her readied stance, she calmy gave her brief response, which glided along her voice in an odd fashion, "[Tsk... Stand down. You cannot fight.]" She knew she was right, her observations rarely failed her. And even a slowpoke could see the yellow creature's fatigue. But she spoke again, this time her tone held the same melody, but calming as well, "[There's no need to be foolish.]"

Lemondrop's bravado couldn't withstand the serene confidence with which the bird Pokémon spoke. She dropped her head, her ears dropping to either side and her tail falling to the dirt. "[So, what, are you going to kill me now?]"

Austray allowed her posture to relax some, though she kept her height, allowing her chin to dip down, as to better view the yellow thing. She approached it with a degree of caution, common for her with any situation. Her head tilted again, something she did to show her attention, an odd quirk she picked up from her instincts. But she could see the pikachu accepted the scenario, so she felt it was deserving a chance to explain itself.
Cautious still though, she made no true reveal of her intentions as her words flowed again, holding a beritone of what seemed to express relaxation. As if her tone and sound described how those she spoke to could feel. "[Only if you force me too.]" she then fell silent, waiting for the little being's response.

"[Well, I'm not gonna do that,]" Lemondrop muttered miserably, her voice sounding very tired. She rocked back on her haunches, her head low. It was rare that she allowed herself to look or seem this vulnerable, but the entire ordeal had sapped all of the bravado that she continuously kept up out of her. For the first time in ages she felt like the tiny, scared Pikachu she had been before she met Tunes. She didn't like it. It made her feel like she was a waste of space.
But she knew she couldn't help it. This Pokémon could end her with less than a flick of the wing, and she wasn't going to allow herself to be done in so easily if she could help it. But all she could do is completely break down.
"" she moaned, not meeting the Skarmory's eyes. ""

Austrays blinked for a moment, taking in what the rodent said. She nodded in accordance as it finished, remembering the girls she had seen earlier on her bike. She stopped for a moment with sudden realization though. Her head perked up, as if looking for something, but a familiar sound made her relax, she was still within earshot. But she then took a moment to study the little being. It was truly small. Smaller than ever should be of a pikachu, but what was definitley odd was now it looked... afraid. The bravery, or more accuratley foolishness it had, was entirely gone. All that was left was a small little thing that could become a larger Pokémon's morself in a mere moment.
She spoke again, her observations as accurate as they may be, she liked to hear herself be correct. Not for the knowledge of beinmg right, but to satisfy the nagging bit of paranoia she always had. Her voice melodicly asked with a tone that spoke comfort, "[Are you scared?]"

The question struck Lemondrop's pride harder than anything that day had. She had always trained herself to never show fear; she had drilled it inter herself before all else, that fear would get her killed or ridiculed, and she didn't need it. She had almost succeeded in convincing herself that she no longer felt the emotion. But she clearly recognized the feeling she felt now... as fear. Fear that she would never see Tunes again; fear that she would be left here alone, or that she would become a snack.
But even if all that was true, her pride would not let her admit it. She kept her eyes on the ground and stayed silent.

He glare narrowed some, paranoia creeping at her that all was not right, but her logical side explained something else to the being's silence. It was written all over its face, riddled with sadness and what seemed to be broken spirit. She felt the need to further assert her presence. She didn't like it when she was ignored, her trainer did that enough, and not even on purpose! Her wings spread out as her posture straightened once more, glaring down at the thing.
"[Are. You. Scared?]" her voice sung out again, the tone seeming to carry and ominous wind of demand. Demanding to be listened to and acknowledged.

Lemondrop cringed as the bird opened her wings, and she glared bitterly at the ground. But the movement completley unnerved her, and she was starting to fear that if this Skarmory did not hear what she wanted to hear, Lemondrop was done. She squeezed her eyes shut and nodded brashly. "[I'm scared, I'm scared!]"

Her wings folded back to her sides as her neck craned back down to look at the small being, satisfied she had her answer. She spoke again, calmly this time as her tone sung with relaxation once more, "[Thank you.]" she then stared at the small thing, not sure on what to do. She rarely socialized. And it wasn't something that was a threat to her. All she could think to do was cautiosly watch it with a tilted head now, to see what it had to say.

Lemondrop glared back at her weakly, but her expression was marred by the more powerful one of fear. She wanted to edge away from the Skarmory, but she feared that if she moved she would topple over and be unable to get up. It was all she could do to keep her legs under her.
What was the Skarmory going to do? Was she waiting for her to make the next move? It completely unsettled her and she wanted to do something about it, but she didn't think she could.

Austrays blinked for a moment, an idea had come to her mind. One that had her paranoia in a tizzy over. But logic proved this pikachu was in no position to be of harm to anyone. She let out a loud screech, another quirk from her instincts that she couldn't help, as shetook to the skies, climbing up and doing a long loop in the air. She started to dive to the ground, a scant few feet from a completely disastorous nosedive untill she mad an expert maneuver of her wings, and a beeline to the more than suspectedly shocked yellow rodent.
In her flyby, she grabbed the small thing in her talons, though not painfully, just a firm grasp as she climbed her altitude again. The wind growing stronger as she made to a safe height, tilting her head towards a specific point, listening for where she was headed, and making a beeline down to a clearing in the forest.

Lemondrop let out a shrill cry of terror as she was swept off the ground. She fought violently to get free, but the struggle did not last long; she was exhausted and injured. Instead she clutched the the bird's talons's weakly, hoping that she wouldn't let go and send her plummeting to a messy death. She stared down at the ground as it rushed by, her tail shaking like a leaf in the breeze out of fright.
The sound of the music made her twitch in surprise. Her head whirled around as her ears pivoted like satellites to locate the source.
