"He actually has no idea, Chris," Chance sighed, unintimidated. "He's an idiot. He usually hides it well, but he's immature and an idiot." And he was starting to think the same about her. But that would not be a helpful commentary. She was right about one thing: he did just want Austin to stop moping around.

"I told him why," she pressed, nails sinking into the hay. "I don't want to repeat myself." With that, she coiled back up into her nest, tucking her paws in by her stomach.

Chance sighed and laid down in front of her, still keeping his distance. "Then I guess I'll just cut out the middle man and tell you that your insecurities are completely unjustified. You're wasting your time and energy and giving me a headache by acting like this.

"Don't blame your headaches on me," she warned, the tip of her tail thumping against the ground. Pressing her weight onto her fore arms, she added, "And don't tell me which feels are justified and unjustified. You're always walking around like you have twenty Spearows crowding your asshole. Justify that."

Chance's eyes narrowed. He crossed his paws and rested his chin on them. "I have to deal with your pissy ass all day, Austin sniveling about whatever trauma he thinks you're putting him through, plus every overemotional Pokémon I happen to pass. On top of all that and the headache it gives me, I haven't been able to sleep well lately. So I think I have a legitimate reason to be grumpy, princess."

A snarl ripped through her throat and she lunged towards the Psychic type, the preface of a Dark attack bubbling leaking through her teeth. She knocked against his shoulder, flipping the duo until she was topside, much like she was with Austin minutes before. "Don't call me that."

Like he had before, he saw the attack coming, and this time, he simply let her overpower him. Afterall, his goal was to get her aggressions focused on someone other than Austin; that only really left him. "What? Princess?" He smirked.

"Don't!" Chris growled, craning her neck towards him with her tail stiff behind her.

Arceus. When she was angry, this new evolved form really did her face a lot of favors. He could only let his smile grow. "Priiincess."

She was deterred by how calmly he was handling her rage. She leaned back, a confused, frustrated pout gracing her features. She smushed a paw between his eyes, just below the gem, and insisted he shut up. "Stop!"

His tail swished in a wide S shape in the hay, and he pressed one of his paws into her chest. As if being angry wasn't enough, now she was going to pout. It was hilarious. "Alright, alright. Stop whining. Arceus. I've never met anyone so offended by being called royalty," he jeered.

She furrowed her brow. "It was derogatory," she stated simply, glaring at the Psychic Pokémon, though she found herself oddly calmed down. She stepped off him and peered at him through half-lidded eyes. Had he used one of those Psychic moves to get into her brain? She sat back and looked him over, wondering why she didn't want to kill him.

Chance rolled to his paws, shook himself off, and sat down in front of her. "Only because you're hearing it that way," he replied, using the end of his tail to dust some hay off her shoulder.

She glanced around at the floor, as if contemplating it. But... she had just called her a pissy-ass. She looked back up him, determined, but hey eyes not as hardened as they once were. "An insult isn't usually followed by a compliment."

"You're right. Most Pokémon aren't clever enough for that," he replied empirically with a smug smirk.
