It was later than Note had planned on getting to the square; past noon, quite obviously. The lunch rush was gone, and the streets were a little calmer. He bit the inside of his cheek and hoped Ellie wouldn't be too mad about his tardiness. They were supposed to meet at noon. He was at least an hour late. And he didn't really have a good excuse either.
Trotting at his side was Don. The houndoom's eyes scanned the square for the platinum blonde they had come to meet, even before Note started doing it himself. He was a bit irritated with Note's tardiness, too, since it meant that they had missed so much daylight.

It was no secret that Ellie was excited to see Note again, and was a little bummed he was late. She assumed there was some sort of reason, or it was just Note being Note, but he had just visited his sick-at-the-time mother, so she wouldn't be hard on him. She sat at a circular table with Angelo napping by her heels. She couldn't tell if he was really asleep though; he and Vivian had this relationship that the teenage girl just couldn't wrap her head around. He was just as excited to see Viv as she was to see her boy.
And he was. Angelo's crimson eyes may have been shut, but he was far from Cloud 9. His nose was constantly on the works, Note and his Pokémon's scent filed under "important" in his senses. When he caught even the faintest hint of the boy and Donetello, his head shot up and he scanned the square eagerly until his eyes the blond boy and his Houndoom. "[Hey!]" he called, noting movement from Ellie behind him.

The call got Donetello's attention before it got Note's. His head shot up, and once he saw the Umbreon he wrapped his tail around Note's arm and gave it a little tug before leading the way. Once Note caught sight of where he was heading his expression brightened, and he hurried after the Houndoom. "Ellie!" he practically sang, arms closing around her like a bear trap as he hugged her tightly. "I missed you, babe!"

Ellie hopped up and let herself be engulfed in Note's arms. Man, she missed this. She draped her arms around his hips and nuzzled her face against his collar. "I missed you too," she replied with a whine. She leaned back and let her blue eyes creep to his, trying her best too look stern but failing miserably. "You're late," she pouted, poking his chest, though her huff-puff face lasted no more than a second. She was just glad to have him back. "How's your mother?" She had to ask, this time, her face etching a more sympathetic expression.
Angelo stood a small deal behind his trainer, nodding at Don. He had been hoping EV would be out and about as well, but he knew it wouldn't be long until he saw her. It never was.

He was about as good at looking apologetic as she was at looking angry; he couldn't wipe the grin off his face. "I'm sorry," he said, tilting his head to the side. "She's all better now. Good as new."
Donetello caught Angelo's eye and nodded back before looking away. He could tell that the Umbreon was on the edge of his seat waiting for Vivian to make an appearance, and with the way Note and Ellie were, he didn't think Angelo's patience would outlast them. He glanced at Note's backpack; of course, he knew where the Pokéballs were, and he thought he might be able to get them if the blond held still for long enough...

Ellie couldn't be mad at him. Not for long, anyway. She stuck out her bottom lip and curled her fingers into the hair on the back of his neck. "You owe me," she murmured coyly, then breaking out into a grin and kissing his cheek. "Well, I'm glad she's feeling better. You're a good son." She giggled and crinkled her nose teasingly.
Angelo sat down, staring up at the humans expectantly like a feline waiting for food. He was expressionless, eyes boring into the couple as they caught up. If they didn't notice him soon, he'd do something about it. But he didn't want to waste his voice or prod at them like a child, so he'd wait.

"Oh, thank you," he chuckled, elated to see her making those adorable expressions again. He hadn't realized how much he missed them till he had them back. "I do what I can." He smoothed a lock of hair out of her face and grinned toothily. "And you'll have to help me figure out how to make it up to you."
After eying the two for a minute, Don walked up behind Note. He was just tall enough to reach the pocket he needed to open to get his Pokéball, but the zipper was easier opened with his tail. After a few tries he managed to hook the barb into the zippper and pulled it open. Then he nosed the bottom of the pocket until the minimized pokeballs spilled out, three in all. The empty one, his, bounced up and down a few times, while the two others solidly hit the brick floor.
It was always easy to tell which Pokéball was Vivian's because when she was in it it shook like it was about to explode. Don pushed them away from his trainer and with one of his claws pressed the button to enlarge it. With another push of a button and a burst of light the Flumbreon stood before them, doing a full-body shake. "[Thank you,]" she growled to Don. He smiled and nodded to her, and her gaze shifted forward to her mate. Her ears perked up in pleasant surprise.
Note gave a start as he heard the pokeballs hit the ground. He looked over his shoulder and watched the Houndoom release Vivian. "You could have said something, but that's cool I guess," he muttered, which received only a disinterested wave of the tail from Donetello.

"You're smart. I have faith you'll come up with something," she smiled, just glad to be back in his arms. It'd been almost half a year now since they got together, though this one month he'd been absent for his mother. She blinked and looked behind him as she heard unknown objects hit the ground lightly and a bright beam of light flashed before her eyes. "Aw, good, I'm glad you brought her," she cooed, then realising all the time they'd been biding. She turned to the Umbreon by her heels and apologised, a little flustered.
Angelo acknowledged Donetello's help with a brisk smile before the black Eon trotted over to his mate, unable to repress the sway in his tail. EV wasn't mushy gushy -- she wasn't down for all that nonsense Ellie and Note were up to, but he was always reassured that she liked him. She didn't sweet-talk him until his ears fell off, but she ran across pretty much acres of land just to tackle him, which was more meaningful to him.
He wasn't afraid of EV, but he just didn't want to bug her. A little mush might not be illegal, though. The Umbreon brushed his small black nose against hers and nuzzled her cheek, delighted that she looked so pleased to see him. "[How was it?]" he asked, already amused.

Vivian's expression contorted into a snarl of disgust. "[Don't joke. I should burn that thing when I have the chance," she said flatly, roughly kicking the now empty ball with her back foot. Donetello rolled his eyes and stopped it with his paw.
Note turned to face the Pokémon, smiling as he watched the two eons reunite. His gaze then shifted to Donetello and the pokeballs at his paws; the only unopened one shifted slightly. "What, didn't want to let him out?" Note teased. Donetello snorted, rolled the ball and pressed the button against the ground before backing up as it leapt to release the young Espeon. He appeared in a slight crouch, as if he landed and hadn't straightened up yet. His long, long tail swished and he looked around. This was his first time in Relebrity since he was a baby, and his memories of it were vague.

Angelo wasn't startled by EV's backlash at all -- how could he be after over a year of being with her? "[I'm sorry,]" he still apologised, watching the ball roll away. "[How come he put you in?]" he asked, interested. His mate was hardly in her Pokéball, for good reason.
Ellie's eyes lit up when she saw Chance. He had evolved only a little before her boyfriend was called home, so she wasn't use to his pink fur just yet. She reached into the little holster around her hip and pulled out her own Pokéballs, releasing Austin, and then deciding to release Brook and her daughter as well. "Okay, blondie, what's the curfew?" she asked, looking between him and the plethora of dark and fire types (and Chance) they had in front of them.
Brook stretched as soon as she was freed from the Pokéball, several stiff muscles in her back cracking. The Mightyena didn't go out of the ranch as often as Ellie's electric team and Angelo, so this was a little new to her. The dark type wasn't much of a people person, as growing up in a a feral Clan still left its mark on her. She noticed a bright light at her side and noticed her daughter and her friend's son appear from the beam, raising her brows. Then she noticed Donetello. Oh.

"[Note's mother was afraid of her,]" Donetello answered before she got the chance. He knew she either wouldn't know or she would lie. It wasn't anything to be taken too seriously; the only Pokémon that Note's mother completely trusted was Don, and she was still a little nervous around him. She didn't exactly have the strongest composition. As soon as the statement left his mouth his attention was immediately pulled from him to Chris and Brook. His tail twitched with a mixture of wariness and anticipation. He was always happy to see his daughter, but her mother, well... their relationship wasn't quite as simple.
"[Yeah,]" Vivian agreed, reluctantly. "" She trailed off, smarting about it for a minute, but then she shook it off. She was learning to pick her battles, and one that led to griping didn't get her anywhere.
"[Hi, Mum!]" Austin yipped, dancing on his toes like the floor was on fire. He danced up to her and headbutted her affectionately, tail wagging.
"[Arceus, you're not a runt anymore,]" Vivian muttered, her tone just the slightest bit softer and her accent more pronounced. She put a paw on the back of his head and nuzzled him back. Her tail tip ticked back and forth, and slowly the motion grew into a smooth sweep.
"[Dad thought you would say that,]" Austin said, a hint of pride in his voice as he looked at his father.
"Hm. Curfew's six. Sunset," Note said, putting his arm around Ellie's shoulders. When he saw that virtually no one was listening he repeated himself a little louder. "CURFEW'S SIX. If you don't come here, come to the condo." He scratched his chin and pointed to Donetello. "Don knows where the condo is. Viv might."
"" Vivian muttered.

Angelo shook his head. "[Well, you're out now, so...]" the Umbreon murmured, not being able to help how entertained he was. "[You know this place better than I do,]" he said to her, but made note to glance at Don as well, the latter of which seemed occupied by staring at his babymomma.
He heard his son being released and watched the fluffy Umbreon trot over, nuzzling his mother like a child. Well, Austin wasn't really a grown up either, but he definitely wasn't that little pile of fur no one was expecting to see by EV's stomach. He stood proud next to his son. He loved this family of his, he really did.
Brook blinked when she made eye contact with the Houndoom, golden eyes flickering towards their daughter, who looked tired and disgruntled. She and Don... the hyena prodded her offspring and began to guide the pup towards her father, keeping a bit of distance between her and the male. She wasn't mad that he was here, or upset in any way, but there was no denying the awkward tension between them. Brook was a hot-tempered gal, but she was stupid last year. She didn't regret Chris in any way, shape, or form, but she wasn't too proud of how the hybrid came about. The way things went with Don... "[Hey,]" she said, not allowing her voice to waver or falter. Even though Chase and Erol weren't here, she still felt like she had some sort of reputation to uphold.
Chris had been snoozing away in her confinement, it was the time she really got her sleep. The Houndyena was easily distracted and sometimes just restless, but there was nothing to distract her in her Pokéball. The pup didn't like sleep though, so it wasn't her favourite place to be, but she took advantage of the opportunity while it was granted to her. She didn't really notice where they were or know what was happening until her mother began ushering her in a direction. Chris would argue, but she knew when to pick her battles with her mother and went to just go with it.
Before she knew it, she was sitting up in front of her dad, reaching about shoulder height of her father. In the past half year, she had grown lean, and almost reached her mother's height. While sitting there, she noticed the short greeting her mother gave. When she was little, Chris might have not understood, but her parents relationship was clear now. In the ranch, conversation was short and didn't occur as much as any other "couple", if they could even be called that. Chris had learned after a while that Erol was more of an uncle than a father figure, despite his distaste upon learning that, and favoured her father over the Mightyena who was clearly pining after her mother. She had nothing against him but the rude words he shot about her father, who she had grown to like. So she took it a little personally.
She butted her father's head with hers and decided to leave before the family reunion got any more awkward. Austin looked distracted with his mother, and she bit her tongue, envious of how even Vivian, Angelo, and Austin got along better than her family. Walking, but not really sure of where she was going, she noticed a pile of pink fur. Great. She curled her nose but realised she had no really other option if she wanted company and not that of her oddball parents. "[Chance,]" she greeted, almost with a growl, as she sat down somewhere near him.
Ellie, meanwhile, shook her head and laughed as the Pokémon began to break into their own little groups. "Alright, I think they'll be fine," she laughed, leaning into him. She slipped her hand into his and twined their fingers, stepping away from him. "Let's get out of here then. See you all at six!"

The sound of his name made the Espeon look over his shoulder. He raised a brow as he saw the Houndyena sitting there. It took him a minute to remember exactly who she was. She, like he, had grown, and she looked much more mature now... She also looked more less happy to see him. He had never been fond of her, but there was nothing particularly about her that he absolutely disliked. "[Hey,]" he said, turning to face her. "[Don't look so happy to see me.]"
Note watched the Pokémon for a minute more, noting how little attention any of them were paying him and Ellie, before he shrugged and headed away with her.

"[No trouble there,]" she responded gruffly, but nevertheless laid down near him. Her fluffy tail slapped the earth behind her, looking around at the other people and Pokémon in Relebrity. Her yellow eyes flickered back to Chance, smirking. She wasn't used to him being an Espeon yet, but it wasn't a problem. If anything, if gave her the type advantage and something to make fun of him with. "[How was the trip, Cupcake?]"

His tail swished slowly, like a snake waiting to strike. "[More interesting than your trip, since I didn't come out of my ball half-asleep,]" he replied empirically. His ears cocked in one direction, and a moment later his head caught up. Austin was coming toward him, his usual springy self, and Chance rose up on his hind legs to meet him. The Umberon headbutted his chest and Chance wrapped his arms around his neck and pulled them both to the ground.
Chance's front arms closed like a trap around Austin's head, and Austin squirmed feebly to get out of them. "[Hey, Chance, let me go!]" he protested.
Chance smirked. "[What, you can't even get out of a little headlock? Pretty weak, bro.]" He bit Austin's ear, and he gave a little growl of protest before Chance released him and they both stood up. "[It's good to see you again, but I thought you'd be stronger.]"
"[I"m working on it,]" Austin said in his own defense, smiling. He had never had the inclination to train like Chance and his mother did; if he did any serious training it was to assuage others. That being said, he wasn't particularly weak for his level or his age, but compared to Vivian and Chance, who were both powered well over their level, he was a lightweight.
