"We need to get these guys clean before they permanantly stink up my condo," he replied. He grabbed an armful of her pokeballs and dumped them on the bed in front of her. If it weren't for the fact that none of the Pokémon seemed to be in a good mood, he would have just done that all on his own, but since they all seemed ready to bite his hand off he figured he'd just do his so he only had the regular number of fire breathing females mad at him.

Ellie squinted her eyes at the pokeballs he dumped next to her, clueless as to what he was doing. She stumbled into the room just to see what had happened and was almost blown away by the stink. "Hoooolly shiiitt," she gasped, pulling up her shirt above her nose.
Among looking at her Pokémon, she realised that one... looked a bit funny. Not like anything she had ever seen before, cured up next to Brook. "Heey, baaaabe," she growled through the fabric. Was that Chris? "Baaabe what's that?"

Note gathered up the pokeballs and walked into the room. He blinked, at a loss of what she was looking at until he realized that there were two Houndoom patterns on the bed... but only one Houndoom. "Woah, is that Chris?" He looked over his shoulder, accounting for all the other Pokémon, and then back at the canine family on the bed. "That's Chris."

Bemused, Ellie quickly slipped her Pokédex from off top of the dresser and held it up at Chris, who twitched an ear in her sleep. The device tried to understand what the hell it was before having an immediate error and shutting down. "She just gave my Pokdex a fucking coronary."
The hybrid stirred in her sleep at the commotion and blinked up her golden eyes, narrowing them at the girl and huffing.

Note chuckled. "Heh. Vivian did that to mine." He tapped on the screen of the Pokédex before picking up Don's Pokéball and returning him. The Houndoom lifted his head just in time to see the beam coming, but didn't really react to it. Then he turned and withdrew Chance, which woke up Austin with a start. The surprised innocent look on his face made Notecoo at him. "Aww, don't look at me that way, buddy, it's okay." He rubbed his head, a decision he immediately regretted because it was grimier than it looked. "We're just going on a trip."
Vivian's ear twitched, and she lifted her head, looking at her trainer warily.

Ellie shook her head and crossed her arms. "Wow," she blinked, locking eyes with the Houndyena. "I had no clue she could even evolve."
The words hit Chris pretty hard, but the sleepiness pushed them down. Next thing she knew, several beams of light captured her and her family and concealed them in the pokeballs. All that was left was Angelo, who hadn't even stirred.

Note was too busy being stared down Vivian to really respond to his girlfriend. The mutant was glaring at him like she always did when he wanted to put her in her Pokéball, simultaneously threatening him if he did and begging him not to. "It won't be for long," he bargained, enlarging the ball.
A loud growl muffled the words, and her eyes narrowed. She put her head down between her paws, her eyes still on him.
"You'll like where we're going. We're going swimming."
The growl died down, and her eyes widened back to a look of wary curiosity.
"Yeah. Lake of Rage." He smiled hopefully; he never brought his Pokémon anywhere near water unless he was with Ellie, or someone he trusted with his life and those of his Pokémon as much as he trusted her. So Vivian nearly never got to go swimming. Note knew it was a bribe she couldn't pass up. "Okay? You're good now, right? You'll cooperate?"
Her eyes narrowed momentarily, but then her body relaxed, and he smiled as she disappeared in a beam of light, for once without a fight. He took a moment to appreciate how far she had come; while he had always been one to bargain with his Pokémon, Vivian had only pretty recently started to trust him enough to even consider his bribes. He could tell it was still a challenge for her, so he didn't take it for granted.

When the Umbreon was absorbed in a clear beam of light, Ellie pulled out the frebreze and stumbled around with the trigger. "That'll at least mask it up for a while..." she muttered, nose plugged.
She stuffed the Pokeballs into a small purse and switched out of her night clothes into a more appropriate outfit - still keeping it loose and casual, of course. She noticed the exchange between Note and Vivian and raised her brows, impressed. "Wow, babe," she said genuinely, patting him on the shoulder. "You two have come a long way."

"I know," he said, grinning. "We'd better get to Lake of Rage quick before she gets impatient and gets pissed off at me." He went into the bedroom, funneled the pokeballs from his arms to his backpack, and changed. His style hadn't changed too much in the last ten years; his shirt patterns had changed and the shirts themselves had gotten a little tighter, since he could pull that look off now. And despite what Ellie may think he had gotten an earring in his left ear. Once he was dressed and had everything he needed in his backpack, he walked back into the main room. "...Well, it smells like flowery garbage now," he said with a shrug. "I'll crack the windows and hope it airs out..."

The girl let out a pouty "hmph" and swung her backpack around her shoulders. She hadn't brought much with her, so getting back to her ranch and the Lake of Rage didn't require a lot of prep. Maybe she would take a dip in the Lake of Rage herself, the weather called for nice water temperature.
