"The Growlithe," Chris barked, narrowing her eyes with a smirk imprinted on her muzzle. "He looks stronger," she snorted, brows furrowed.
"Flora and I had to carry you out of the burning building and get you here while your sister sent her Pidgey out for help," she explained briefly, staring at the ground awkwardly.

Judis tilted his head to one side with a curious smile. "Well, I am. Okay, I'll fight you." He trotted forwarx, his curly tail swishing. "You look strong too."
Tori took a step back and sat down next to Donetello. She sat with curious reluctance, anticipating the fight that was about to begin.
"I really wish I could remember this," Note sighed, frowning a bit. "I bet I worried you. I don't like to worry you, Ellie."

"I am," Chris replied, eyes glinting mysteriously. Her stumpy tail wiggled eagerly as she lowered her torso, preparing to scorch the tora-ge puppy Pokémon. They both, naturally, had the ability to absorb fire attacks, so she would have to strategize and use any non-fire attacks she had...
Brook smirked at her daughter's blunt remark and padded over next to her boyfriend, or whatever the hell he was. Her red-amber eyes were glistening with motherly pride as she stared at her daughter. Well muscled, intelligent, were obvious traits that Brook had shared with her daughter. Her only flaw was the headstrongness she got from her father.
Ellie nodded, secretly wishing the same. Not that she wanted him in her debt, but... She averted her gaze from the floor to her crush, blue eyes glossy. She smiled softly, sharp blonde brows creased back. "Yeah... When you died, I thought I was going to die, too," she admitted quietly, looking away shyly and scratching the back of her hand.

An excited glint appeared in Judis' eyes and his curled tail wagged excitedly as he took on an offensive stance. His muscles rippling under his firey coat he shot forward, accelerating rapidly as he prepared for a Take Down attack.
Donetello watched the battle with excited eyes. The focus, the excitement in both faces of the young Pokémon... it was amazing. He knew how Judis worked, how he acted, but to see his daughter fight.... he couldn't wait. He saw the same things in Chris that Brook did: her intelligence, her strength, but he also saw her cockiness, and he thought that maybe that would be a big enough fault for Judis to extort.
Note looked back at her, words in his eyes that he could not say. He took her hand, stroking the back of it with his thumb. "Can you promise me something, Ellie?" he asked.

The Houndour tensed as the firey Pokémon shot forward. Focus and precision clear in her dark eyes as she quickly looked at every movement that Growlithe extorted as he bulleted at her.
She thought over the learns she had learned... and the TMs that Brook had nosed from Ellie's backpack to use on her daughter. There was no harm in that, really. TMs were reusable now-a-days. Wait... that was it! Chris waited, her muscles tight as she waited until the striped Pokémon was only a yard away before attempting to clash with his Take Down with a Mudslap, a Ground move that if hitting the young Pokémon, would be super effective and lower his accuracy for other attacks.
Brook smirked, but noticed Don's slight unease beside her. That bitch better not be doubting my daughter's abilities, she threatened silently, brows furowed slightly as she stared him down from the corner of her blood-colored eyes. She slowly turned her gaze back to the hybrid and the large Growlithe.
Ellie felt the hairs on her neck rise as her skin heated up at Note's touch. The feeling of his hand gently clutching hers was a rush, but she somehow remained to stay calm. Through blabberous stutters, the teenager nervously muttered, "Y-Yes?"
(By the way, just so you know, before, when Brook was boasting about Chris' traits, her head was in the clouds xD She got everything backwards. ;P )

Judis saw what Chris was about to do, but he realized that he was going far too fast and he was far too close to try to stop or turn. Instead he lowered his head and sped up, bracing against the attack to try to slam through it.
Don's eyes fixed on the two Pokémon as they collided. Judis' take down was by far his strongest attack, and he had at least a few levels on his daughter, but regardless, if he hit that mudslap attack it would throw him off. It was only a matter of how much.
((Oh... Woops xD))
Note continued to look at her seriously, his drug-induced daze blinding him to her awkwardness. "If something ever happens to me, don't die, kay? That would be pretty lame. I don't want you to need me like that."

Chris untensed as her Mudslap attack clashed with Judis head on, but stiffened once more as she felt the waves from his Take Down attack rush through her, and the black canine was sent off her feet, traveling only several feet, though. She laid there momentarily, in shock, before shaking herself back to realization and jumping to her paws, hackles raised. While the Growlithe with dealing with the effects of her Ground attack, the Houndour used Smog to haze up the battlefield, and if lucky, poison her target.
Brook's eyes narrowed as a Smog enveloped her daughter's small, grassy battlefield. The motherly part of her pressured her to go interact within the battle, but the truer half of herself glued her paws to the ground.
Ellie suppressed getting teary eyed and with her free hand, wiped away a stray tear. "Okay..." she giggled somewhat, choking on emotions with bloodshot eyes. "You know... you're my best friend, right? Prolly' the best friend I've ever had. I know what you just said, but... I honestly don't know what I'd do, had you not been zapped to life," she sniffed, a ridiculous grin on her blushy face.

Judis was buffetted backward from the force of the Mudslap, but he landed on his paws wobbling unsteadily. As smog enveloped the feild he coughed. His eyes watering he looked around the feild, trying to find his target. With a determined growl He sucked in a quick breath and blew a flamethrower blindly into the fog. He knew, of course, that it would do no good if it hit Chris, but he was not aiming for her.
The flame created a tunnel through the smog that for a moment cleared a great deal of the battlefeild before beginning to slowly fill up again. Judis looked around wildly, hoping to spot Chris before the clarity was destroyed again. He was still a bit unsteady on his paws from the Mudslap, but it would not take him long to recover unless he was hit again.
Through the thick smog he caught Chris' scent and his body immediately turned to face her. He shot off again in another takedown. As he did he lost her scent and he could only hope that he was in the right direction.
Don started in surprise as the feild was shrouded in smog. His sight of the fight obscured he could only guess what was happening in the poisonous cloud.
"You'd have had to go on without me," Note replied. "You're my best friend, too, Ellie. But if i died, you'd have to live to make somebody else as happy as you've made me."

Chris gasped as the male shot a few flames through her Smog, and she grimaced slightly. She could hear the dog sniffing, and felt her throat build up as it stopped abruptly. Before she could do anything, a dark figure hit her dead on, and sent her flying out of the Smog. Realizing, mid-flight, that she would need a few heartbeats to get back on her paws, she used up all the power she could muster while sustaining a heavy blow and twisted mid-air bursting in midair and soaring towards Judis' hazy figure with a Foul Play, which would take all the power he'd just dealt on her and turn it against him.
Brook's lip curled back as she saw her daughter's form fly out of the smog, only to stop midair, and hurl back into the smog. Chris had only battled a few opponents before; this was her real, first challenging battle.
As happy... as I've made him? the teenager just stared at the drugged male, coughing from the force she used to hold back a flood of salty tears. Her bottom lip quivered pitifully. "I don't know, Note," she whimpered. "You, my family, and my Pokémon are all the happiness I have."
(Chris defies all gravity, lols)

Judis' eyes widened as he saw what the Houndour hybrid had done. He tried to back out of the range of the attack, but he did not move fast enough, and he caught part of it. With a yelp he was sent sprawling across the ground.
The smog was beginning to clear now; he pulled himeslf to his paws, unsteady, as he surveyed the damage Chris' attack had done. His expression looked beaten, tired, but his curly dirt-covered tail was wagging harder than it had been yet.
Donetello's gaze shifted to Brook for a moment as Chris barreled into the ground. As the attack cleared and Judis got to his paws he asked, "Are you worried?"
"You could give more, if I was gone," he said with a sweet smile. "I know you could. Don't cry, Ellie. That's a good thing..."

Chris landed unsteadily, her shoulders jutting as she clumsily hit the ground. She looked up to find Judis, clear through the fog, with his dirty tail wagging amply. The Houndour snarled, realizing that she was losing her paitence and power. With Fire Blast out of the picture, all she had was Foul Play, Smog, and Mudslap... What if she could combine two of her attacks? Her mother had spoken of the tactic before... He looked like he might almost be finished, but then again, one more direct blow and so was she.
Brook wanted to retort with, What the hell do you think, Mutt? I'm her mother!, but shook her head defiantly. "Of course not," she snorted, chin raised royally. "Chris is the most powerful adolescent on the ranch, of course, with all the training Erol and I have been giving her," she almost sneered as she mentioned the former alpha who she had been betrothed to before getting captured by Ellie with her brother.
Ellie held his hand to her burning cheek and shook her head slightly, eyes shut tight as she repeated under her breath, "No, no, no, no, no..."

Judis shuffled on his paws for a moment, and then he shot forward again in a Reversal attack. Despite his expression he was far from done, and still moving at an adequate speed. He had been waiting until he had lost a lot of HP before using the attack, as it was much more powerful when his HP was down. If it hit he hoped the Fight-Type attack would be enough to either finish her off or nearly finish her off.
Don smirked at his girlfriend's façade. Without a word he turned back to the fight, making no attempt to hide his condescention. He saw what Judis had done: He appeared far more tired than he actually was in battle. The only sign of how fatigued he actually was was the swish of his tail.
"Yes," Note said, his smile widening slightly. "You could. But you don't have to now."

The Houndour's eyes widened as the floppy-eared canine shot towards her, and thinking quick on her paws, she let loose another Smog. It meshed with the remains of her older one, creating a thicker, heavier purple fog. She quickly and quietly leaped out of the way, and prepared to shoot a Mudslap at him if he passed by.
Brook grinned as Don looked away without a word, realizing she had won. But she began to notice that both dogs were looking pretty tired, as she was unaware that the Growlithe's 'exhaustion' was only for show. She got up and trotted away, seeking out some healers in the barn.
Ellie gawked at the boy through the haze of tears that clouded her electric blue eyes. She hated thinking about the 'what if' had Note actually died that day... and stayed dead for that matter. Unable to help herself, her emotions far too heavy, she reached over and wrapped her arms around him, lifting him somewhat, and gently burying her head against his chest as she quietly sobbed.

Judis skidded to a hault as he was ambushed by another Smog. He shook his head from side to side, coughing as he tried to figure out where the houndour had gone. His eyex watering he ran through the smog trying to find an area of clarity. Tuis time he could feel the poison seeping into his body. He would have to finish her off quick if he wanted to win.
Donetello watched the fight with excited eyes and a wagging tail. Judis had won harder fights, but almostnalways against opponents he knew. And he simply did not know what Chris had planned. Beside uim Victoria looked ready to jump in to assist her friend. Her tails quivered in excitement as xhe searched the fog for him.
Note blinked in surprise as she hugged him, but he wrapped his uninjured arm around her and hugged her back.

The Houndour heard the Growlithe wheezing from some point ahead of her. With blood pumping in her ears, her eyes searching through the Smog. Chris saw something shaking its head a few yards ahead of her, and she could see a purple glow radiating around its body; an effect from being poisoned. She grinned, brows furrowed. With the poison seeping through his body, all she had to really do was avoid him. She wondered whether trying to Mudslap him now, while he was dazed, would be good enough to avoid the risk of getting blasted and taken down while attempting to dodge more attacks. Or she could continue to Smog up the area, but then she would have as much trouble as he would, maneuvering through the Smog... unless... The Houndour reared up on her hind legs, and with all the power she still had, she unleashed a powerful Smog, thicker and more blinding than her previous ones. A large portion of their quarter of the ranch had been covered by her purple mist, and not wanting to stir the fog and give away her hiding space, she sneaked out into the fresh air, her muscles tensed.
Brook smirked as her daughter emerged into the open, dust and bruises dulling her black coat. She wondered if she could somehow sneak a potion for her daughter... Or had she known the attack, 'rest', she'd be able to take up some time to recover her energy. The Mightyena watched intently, looking through the heavy Smog for Chris' opponent.
Ellie snifed, hardly noticing as he wrapped his good arm around her. "I don't want you to ever leave, Note. Please, please don't ever die! Not until I'm dead!"
