The ranch appearing in the distance was a welcome relief to Elliot. Up here it was warm and sunny without a cloud in the sky, a welcome relief to the gloominess of Goldenrod City and a devastating contradiction to their situation now. He gently glided down to the ranch, landing at the door where he lowered himself to the ground.

Ellie felt herself melt with relief at the sight of her welcoming ranch. All the Pokémon her family had collected over the years were here... And she loved each and every one of them. But she'd have to say hello later. As the Charizard began to land, she patted him on his neck gingerly. "Hey, could you land by the white house over there? We need to get Note to bed as quickly as possible, and I need to call a Doctor. I don't want to get mauled by my other Pokémon... heh," she requested nervously.

The Charizard rumbled obediantly and did as he was told, landing by the door of the white house.

"Thank you so much, Elliot!" She hugged the Charizard affectionately, making sure not to squish Note who was between them as she did so. The blonde securely slid off, but still had her hands on the boy's waist to ensure he didn't fall off. Once both feet were planted securely on the grassy land, she cradled Eli over her shoulder and walked towards the door, opening it. Turning around, she said, "While I handle the Doctor and finding Note a bed, why don't you go visit Delilah? She's been looking forward to seeing you again."
With that, the door closed and the teenager rushed inside, laying the boy on the couch and rushing towards the phone. She hastily punched in some numbers after looking through her phonebook. "Dr. Louis? Please, it's urgent! Someone's been shot and needs immediate attention! ...Uh huh... Oh, thank you!"
As she hung up, she felt her pocket vibrate. A little confused, she picked up and saw a text message from Zane, requesting that she take a photo of the ranch. A little confused, but sure that it was important, she sprinted to the porch and put her phone on 'camera mode' before snapping a shot of the large, fenced field and sending it to her kin.

Elliot watched fretfully as Ellie rushed inside, but he trusted her; Note would be safe with her. He turned, excited by the prospect of seeing his beautiful wife again. "Delilah," he called softly, unsure of where to begin his search.

The Delcatty was laying down in the shade of her favorite Sycamore, curled up in the long, emerald-tinted grass. She was a pretty good distance away from her husband, but thanks to her large, purple ears, she was able to catch the faint call that jostled her from her catnap. Sitting up, the cat swept her unusually-soft tongue over her paw, brushing it against her ear before stretching. Who was it that had called her name? It sounded beautifully familiar... but it couldn't be him; it'd been so long since she'd last seen him, and she missed him terribly... But then she saw him; a blob of orange on the horizon that she knew wasn't one of Ellie's.
Her heart igniting, she began to bound towards the fire lizard, her round, blue eyes sparkling in delight. "Elliot!" she called, her tail twisting in delight as she picked up her pace.

Elliot's face brightened and he opened his arms to recieve her. "Oh, Delilah," he said euphorically.

The feline lunged into her lover's arms and nuzzled his chest endearingly. "It's been too long, Elliot! I've missed you so, so much," she meowed, her chest swelling with joy. Her voice cracked from the emotion that suddenly swept over her like a tidal wave. "My life has been so dull without you here," she almost whimpered, but held back her complaints as she smothered her mate with affection.

Elliot hugged her securely, his strong arms cradling her gently. "I've missed you so much, my dear," he said softly, and he wished that the moment could never end. Why could they not be together like this all the time?
The thought immediatley brought him back to his trainer, broken and bleeding in Elliot's white house. He looked down at the Delcatty frettfully. "So much has happened, my love. So many horrible things with which I do not wish to burden you. Dull is far better to when I have experienced today." He shook his head sadly, and as he did he caught from the corner of his eye the sight of the boxes, newly teleported by the white house. He was surprised: how had they gotten here so quickly?

The Delcatty's purple ears folded back in dismay. "Darling, what happened?" she inquired, sky-eyes wide. As she waited patiently for a response, two boxes filled with Pokémon popped up before her eyes. Startled, the beige hairs on the feline's neck bristled and she nearly jumped out of Elliot's embrace with a tiny squeak of alarm. "Elliot, dear, what are those doing here? ...What are those?" she fret, clinging to her mate even tighter.

Elliot stroked her comfortingly as he turned to gaze at the boxes. "I believe they are Pokémon... Delilah, Team Rocket had seized Goldenrod City, and our valiant trainers successfully defeated their leader." He shook his head. "It was a brutal battle, my love. Something no one should ever see." He paused, unable to recall the details of how the Pokémon had ended up in boxes, or what had happened at Radio Tower after Note had got shot, and he id not want to burden Delilah with that horrible detail.

"Team Rocket?" Delilah echoed, looking back-and-forth between the crates and her lover. "But, dear, aren't those Pokémon dangerous?" she gasped, her fearful eyes boring into the Charizard's.
Listening to his description, the feline nuzzled his chest affectionately. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you, my love," she meowed quietly, letting herself calm down to hopefully give the Fire Type a similar energy. "You must be exhausted... Come, dear, lie down with me under the sycamore," the female invited, wanting only the best for Elliot, and that large shady spot under the tree was indeed the best, after her darling husband, of course.

Elliot smiled sweetly. "I am alright, Delilah. Really, I am." He looked toward the boxes again, fearing the same. "I do not know what okwmkn they sent, but it would be irresponsible of me not to check, to make sure they are no danger to this ranch presently. Please, excuse me. This will only take a momwnt, and I'm sure we have nothing to worry about..."
He gingerly, and rather reljctantly set Delilah down and started toward the boxes warily.

Delilah felt herself plop gently in the grassy Earth, staring off at her husband with a guilty blue gaze. I need to find the perfect moment to tell him, she thought to herself, her heart clenching. She didn't want to tell him, though. She didn't want it to be true. Dear Arceus, if she ever got to meet Jirachi, that would be what she'd wish for... The egg that was on the way... It wouldn't be the same as having a child that shared both her and Elliot's genes... but she'd love it unconditionally, anyway. Ellie wouldn't tell her what kind of Pokémon it was, and Delilah was itching to find out.

The sight of the boxes broke Elliot's heart, and his initial apprehension turned to sadness, sympathy, as he saw that these Pokémon were not the ones that had been out for blood: the boxes were filled with little Pokémon, their poor bodies beaten and broken and in an unorganjzed heap. Some of these Pokémon looked so young, too to be fighting. Child soldiers. He sighed heavily, taking a step back. These Pokémon were no threat to the ranch now. They were all unconscious, and if they were not they were too weak to battle.
Note let out a low moan as he slowly rejoined the living world. His lids felt heavy and his entire body was sore. But the pain in his shoulder was dizzying, unbareable. He gritted his teeth, the searing pain all that hw could comprehend. His other arm reached up to touch the wound slowly, his fingers trembling.
