"[Aaah, you wish!]" he barked back, reaching over and nibbling her floppy ear. He always adored that ear.
Chris sighed exasperatedly, as if she hadn't been lost herself about two minutes ago. "[And Mom?]" she asked, noting the Mightyena's absence. As the Houndoom began to lead the little group of misfits elsewhere, she kept at her father's pace. She didn't want to fall behind and somehow end up next to the Espeon... She didn't even want to look at him right now. Even if the extra steps were taking a bit of a toll on her.

Nikki let out a cry that deteriorated into a hyena-like laugh. She jumped slightly to headbutt him in the chin. With any more force it would have actually hurt the both of them, but with the gentle brush it was it was it was more of an affectionate nuzzle.
"[She's the next on the list to find,]" Donetello replied grimly. Of course he wasn't going to badmouth Chris's mother in front of her, but he was just as fed up with her highstrung pigheadedness as Vivian's. At least Vivian had been here once. And she had stayed with someone. Brook was so set on finding Chris that she didn't seem to realize how big the ghetto was. This was so much more troublesome than it had to... if anyone would just take five seconds to listen to him...

Solitaire snorted when Nikki laughed. It was so distinctive and so cute -- he couldn't go a day without hearing her laugh. When she gingerly headbutt him, he hooked his paws around her neck and pulled her down with him as he let himself collapse on the concrete.
Chris growled slightly under her breath when she heard her father. Had they invited everyone out here to get lost? She wasn't really worried about her mother, since she could handle herself, but that meant they would have to gather everyone up before they could even dream of going home... this was exhausting.

Nikki tumbled to the ground with him, still cackling giddily as they slid to the ground. She playfully batted at his nose and headbutted him again. He was such a dork... she didn't even know why she adored him so much, but here she was, humoring his dumb jokes and making her pokes and prods too gentle to hurt.
Still unable to see them in the dark, Chance nearly stumbled over them as they fell in his path. He took a step back, eyes widening in the darkness, as he tried to figure out how to get around them.
Donetello stopped and looked over his shoulder. His eyes much more keen in the dark than the Espeon's, he saw what had happened, and he stopped. His patience was growing thin; he was happy to see the two again but he had no time for their games. "[If you two are going to get in the way, you need to go home,]" he growled. ""
Nikki gave a start and shuffled away from Solitaire, getting to her feet and shaking off. Even after all this time she couldn't deal with being reprimanded by her psedo-father. The tone of his voice- which was neither overtly mad not calm, just... disappointed -made her feel like a tiny poochyena again.

Solitaire frowned when Don used a less-endearing tone with them. He thought they had gotten past that, now, years after Donetello... "retired". But the canine had learned over the years when to retort and when to let things brush by. This seemed to be the latter.
Chris' nose lifted to the air, praying, really, that she'd catch some sort of smell besides piss and Rattata droppings. And she did. In the distance, she could make out a figure walking towards them, and smell them even better than she could see them. The canine began to run forward, a little slow. "[Mom,]" she called out, earning perked ears.
The Mightyena ran forward and headbutted her daughter gently, then began to growl. "[What the hell? You have my nose, how the hell did you get--]" She paused, eyes widening when she noticed her daughter's height and... well, overall appearance. She knew it was Chris from the scent, but... Brook was just glad she had evolved, and into something so... feminine. Brook was all for power and fighting but she had been worried that if Chris evolved, she'd turn into some grotesque monster thing. That wasn't so much the case when she looked into her daughter's ruby eyes.

Don was about to reprimand Chris for taking off on him when he heard her call out for her mother. His tail went up, and he started after her, but paused, looking back, and wrapped his tail around Chance's muzzle, which was the easiest part of him to get a hold of. "[Come on,]" he muttered, giving him a tug before trotting after his family.
Now sure of at least the direction he was going, Chance took a long stride and then a leap that he hoped would cure any remaining obstacles in his path. It did, and from there it was easy enough to follow Donetello's nails clicking against the cement. stopping, however, proved more difficult, and he crashed into the Houndoom's flank unceremoniously. Expecting as much, Don was planted and hardly flinched. He had noticed the look on Brook's face and was able to dissect it pretty easily. He hadn't given much thought to what Chris would look like when she evolved; he was most concerned with if she could evolve at all. The shock and satisfaction of seeing her new form was one he could not put into words, and for the sake of the moment, hadn't tried to. But he would certainly have something to say about it later, int he light, when everything was said and done and everyone was back where they belonged.

Brook looked over at Don, not so surprised to see him, as her nose had picked him up minutes ago. She was, however, curious of the younger Houndoom and Mightyena following him. She gave Don a look and said, "[Nice to see you again.]"
Chris looked between her parents for a few moments, then lifted her muzzle to the air. She couldn't pick up much -- her nose was a little iffy from being surrounded by a constant piss smell all day. "[Now it's just Viv and her boys, right?]"

Donetello gave a nod to his babymama in greeting, and then he looked at Chris and nodded. "[Yes.]" He looked back, getting and idea of where everyone was: Chance was still standing at his side, waiting for someone to move so that he could follow them, and Nikki and Solitaire, who he assumed were going to behave themselves, were trotting after them. He pointed to each of them in turn as he introduced them to Brook. "[This is Solitaire and Nikki. They're old friends of mine from when I used to live in this city. They're going to help us find everyone.]"
"[Hey,]" Nikki said to the other Mightyena, keeping her greeting brief and curt. She was still sulking about being reprimanded and was determined to be on her best behavior to avoid it in the future.

The Houndyena sighed and pursed her canine lips. This was annoying, and admittedly, a bit frightening. Though her vision in the dark was as keen as it was in daylight, there was always something ominous about the night. Especially in unknown territory -- Chris had no problem running around the Lake of Rage when she slipped through the fence at night, the most she had to worry about were wild margikarps.
Solitaire nodded at Brook, and noted Nikki's unease. He didn't like that. Flashing a glance at Don, he stood next to Nikki and bent down his head to nuzzle her crestfallen one.
Brook watched the Houndoom and Mightyena and something began to bubble violently in her gut. She whisked her head away quickly and began to work on the Eevee family's trail, nails ripping across her heart.

Caught off-guard by the sudden change in the Mightyena's demeanor, it took Donetello a moment to catch up to Brook. After a swift glance in the two feral Pokémon's directions, Chance followed, opting to stick close to Don to make sure he didn't get lost.
Nikki noticed the change in Brook's demeanor at once, and as she hurried away she leaned up and whispered to Solitaire, ""

Brook felt like she had a grasp on one of their scents, but it was so, so vague. It could have been Vivian's son hours ago, or even just a random Eevee or Umbreon who just happened to have a similar stink. It was hard, and Brook was getting frustrated the longer the scents dodged her.
Sol's tail slapped against the ground in annoyance. "[That's kind of unfair, we didn't do anything,]" he muttered, furrowing his brows. He missed Don a lot, but whenever the Houndoom came back, it was always like he was bringing some sort of problem with him. To be fair, he was probably making up for all the times Solitaire's Houndour curiosity wound them up in trouble, but that was different.

Nikki pouted and nodded. She didn't like this idea of not having Don to themselves when he came, that they were more of an obstacle than an attraction. It made her feel pretty low. She just wanted to spend some quality time with her psuedo-father without being glared down by his family. Was that so hard to ask?
Keeping close to Donetello, Chance's head was up instead of down, for he knew that in this darkness, Vivian's eyes would be glowing bright red. If Brook was still on a scent, he figured they had to be close; it was worth making ample use of his eyes to help in the search.
To his surprise, he actually spotted something- a quick blur of two shadows and a narrow slit if glowing red among it. He stopped. "[Hey, Don,]" he said, trying to get someone's attention before he was left behind. "Over there."
The elder Houndoom stopped, following his gaze, but the figures had passed and were out of his sight. "[Brook, Chris, stop,]" he instructed before turning back to the Espeon. "[What did you see?]"
"" He pointed his his long forked tail. "[They ran past. I saw Vivian's eyes.]"
Nikki's ears perked; she had seen the flicker of movement out of the corner of her eye, too, but, as she did with most things that posed no threat to her, she had disregarded it. She turned, peering down the ally, and looked at Don expectantly.

Brook's eyes flashed when the smell suddenly became stronger, almost to the point of overwhelming. She heard the muttering of Don and Chance, but didn't like the whole "canine command" Don was trying to do. When she saw two pairs of red eyes and a faint, golden glow, she knew she had pinpointed them. The Mightyena barked, not afraid if any rogue would hear and investigate. She was fearless and she was tough, anyone could pick that up just from the way she presented herself. Had it not been for the strange twist of fate, she would have made a good Queen of her Pack, though with Erol... she wasn't quite sure that was what she wanted.
Chris could hear her heart pounding in her ears; she tried to find Austin's scent among Vivian and Angelo's but she couldn't.

The bark got Vivian's attention, and she stopped. "[Did you hear that?]" she said to Angelo, turning around. "[That was Brook.]" She gestured for her mate to follow her as she started back toward the sound.
Donetello started down the alley, and the two nearly collided at the corner. Vivian's eyes widened in relief, and she peered behind him to try and catch sight of her boys. Chance was immediately visible, his dull pink fur standing out among the collage of blacks and greys. But when she saw that Austin wasn't with them, her ears drooped. A pit was forming in her stomach that she desperately wanted to be gone.

Angelo came to a halt when his mate did, nodding his head at her resolutely before following her towards Brook's call.
"[Thank Arceus,]" the Umbreon sighed upon reaching the small group, shaking his head. When he raised it and his crimson eyes began to sort through the Pokémon present, his heart began to sink to his feet. And then he got angry.
Angelo's temper may have mellowed considerably since his teenage years, but his family was the most important thing to him; Vivian, Austin, and Chance was beginning to become sort of mandatory.
His red eyes hardened. "[Where's my son.]"
