Ellie wanted to agree, but she wasn't sure what she was agreeing on. She didn't KNOW what they were now. She was too afraid to ask the question, however. She didn't want to be the stereotypical teenage girl who has a great friendship with a guy and then ruins it by asking him out. But Ellie wouldn't even be asking him out -- not like she'd at all mind being together with him -- she just wanted to know what their relationship was right now. She scratched the back of her neck, unsure of what to say to the boy. She just nodded her head very slightly and very briefly, not able to produce words.

Her shyness was enthralling. He could see the unsureness on her face, dancing in her eyes; the questions she did not want to ask, the questions they both wanted answered. The very fact that they were there, that she was questioning, meant that the answer was yes from him. He couldn't help himself: with one hand he reached forward and cupped her cheek, and then he leaned in and gave her a soft, chaste kiss.

Half of the teenager was surprised by the kiss; the other part of her had grown a tad bit used to it from playing around. She didn't understand completely. Note had won. He was victorious. So why was he kissing her now? She wasn't gonna refuse, of course. She returned the kiss but when it broke, could not help the look of curiosity on her face.

Despite himself, the look on her face made him smile. "Ellie, you're a riot," he chuckled, smoothing her hair out of her face. His eyes softened with his tone as he continued. "I don't really want to just be friends anymore..."

Ellie almost dropped dead right then and there. He what!? Her body wasn't in as much as a state of shock as her insides, though. She was tired, too, which helped her stay mellow despite what Note had just told her. She snuggled up to her friend and tucked her face underneath his jaw. It fit almost perfectly; as if her body had been molded to fit his. "Good, 'cause I think you'll make the best mortal enemy ever."

Note closed his eyes and a wide smile spread across his face as she pressed herself against him. He rested his chin on the top of her head and he wrapped his arms around her, and he hoped that he would always be able to hold her like this, that they could always feel like one. He let out a soft chuckle. "Hey, I can be your enemy," he said, rhythmically, as if he were quoting the words of a song, "as long as I'm yours."

"I didn't know you were so corny," she teased, but said it in a flirtatious way as if it were a compliment. She lifted her chin and planted a kiss on his jawline. "But you really mean it?" she asked, but half-regretted doing so. She just wanted to know for sure. "Are we... y'know...?"

"I mean it," he said confidently, looking down at her as if she was the most valuable person in the world. "I really want you to be mine, Eleanor Surge."

Overwhelmed by hearing the words spill out of his mouth, Eleanor grabbed his face and kissed him roughly. "It means a lot to hear you say that," she murmured, her heart light. Who could have imagined?

He smiled back at her brightly. "I'm glad," he asked, followed by a slight chuckle.

Ellie woke in the morning in the arms of her best friend boyfriend. Sunlight was streaming in through the window, where a slight breeze ruffled the curtains. It must have been around noon; a lot later than Ellie's usually rising.
She felt obligated to go do her morning patrol of the ranch and make sure the Pokémon were all well and happy, but... Hell, Note was so comfortable. But duties came before pleasure, so she tried wiggling out of his embrace and going over to her dresser. She quickly changed her undergarments and put on fresh clothes. She then started her way toward the doorway, stopping and taking a look back at Note.

As had always been his fashion, Note slept soundly through her dance out of his arms and her morning routine. He was still sound asleep when she was standing at the door.

"Knucklehead," she whispered to herself with a giggle before making her way downstairs and out the door. Stepping outside, the first things she noticed were her little brothers sitting in the grass.
"Spring romance, you two?" she cocked a brow at them as she walked past, chuckling to herself.
"Spring romance yourself," Zane shot back, not even bothering to look back at his sister. "I came to check on you this morning. Huh."
That left her speechless, for sure.

Tunes, who was with the twins, smirked and laid on her back, crossing her ankles. She had to bite her tongue to keep from saying some things that would probably be too mean, but man, was it a temptation. Honestly, she wasn't too surprised by what Zane had seen. She knew her brother too well not to anticipate it eventually. But she thought that Ellie would hold out a little longer.

Ellie figured she'd talk to her brother later and just shook her head, walking away rather quickly. She went to the barn's storage and dragged out some toys for her Pokémon, occasionally glancing sideways at the trio in the field.
Zane shook his head once Ellie made her departure. "Slut," he grumbled beneath his breath.
