"[Alright then, kid. Just a friendly little battle, 'cause you look bored and I'm a generous guy,]" Blitz jested, smiling at the Eevee with a cocked brow. "[What's your name again, now? Prancer?]" he inquired, sort of egging him on. He looked back at Chris and her large eyes flickered toward an open, unoccupied stretch of the ranch. There were a few stragglers just passing along it, which Chris took the liberty of running over to and telling to hit the road. " " the Growlithe dipped his head to his sister-like figure and began to walk over toward the open space. He was impressively sized for his age and breed, but he was not as massive as Note's had been. Where Judis was stocky with a thick-set, Blitz was more lean, and skinny around his ribs. He was no twig-leg, but his time in the City and how rarely he was able to eat still shows with every slight bump on his chest. His legs were powerful, though, and his real strength came from his Special Attacks.
Angelo felt EV turn her head as fast as she did. He could almost feel a breeze from it ripple along his cheek. He would comfort her and assure her that Chance wouldn't come out of the battle a hot pile of embers, if he were a stranger. Plus, the time that Alfonzo-- or, "Blitzkrieg" spent in the City had really altered something in the once pure and innocent heart of his. He'd seen the real world. Something he was hoping to show his own son, but not so soon and definitely not as drastically or scarring. Blitz was a tough kid, rough around the edges and not too much gushier at his core. He was not a bad kid, but he was like Chris. There was bite to go along with his bark -- maybe even more so.
Now opposite of Chance with a good field between them, Blitz lowered his torso, wiggling his haunches. "[Alright, kiddo, let's play!]" he barked with a rasp as he thrust himself forward, looking as if he were going for some sort of measly tackle, but having a whole other idea swarming in his head.

"[Chance,]" the Eevee replied, following the Growlithe at a brisk trot. His long tail swept near the ground before rising up in a swift zigzag; the motion was yet another little quirk of his, and when he was excited he did it without thought. "[And I'm not a kid.]" He took his place on the opposite side of the field from Blitz, and his tail lashed excitedly as he saw his opponent racing toward him. The muscles in his shoulders tensed in anticipation, and he smirked as he waited for the perfect moment to react.
Austin's ears perked as he turned to watch his old friend fight the Growlithe. "[Why isn't he moving?]" he asked, puzzled by how still Chance looked at a distance. Austin had always been more of an observer than a fighter; he generally preferred to avoid trouble, and battles and trouble ran together in his mind. Though he knew that the two were not always complimentary, he simply preferred not to fight unless egged on. Therefore he had very little practical knowledge of different fighting styles.
"[Because he doesn't have to yet,]" EV replied, gently poking her son's shoulder with her paw. Even if she was protective of Chance, she did love to watch him battle, because when he was evenly matched, it was entertaining. When Chance got moving, he looked more like an Ekans than an Eevee; he was so fast and flexible that it was hard to pin him down, and he definitely knew how to use that to his advantage.

Once approaching the Eevee with his tackle-readying run, he skidded to a complete halt in front of the brown-and-cream Pokémon and spit a cackling Flame Burst in his face before leaping away. The embers exploded like fireworks, as was the move's signature effect. Small, ashy flecks were scattered along the grass. Perhaps they should have taken this battle to somewhere with a little less grass... But did the Ranch even have anything like that? Surely, if it were to suit every single Pokémon that Eleanor owned. Regardless, though, they had already started here, and they were going to end here.
The Growlithe lowered his stature, muscles tense and ready for Chance's rebound.

As the tizzy of flames cleared, they revealed an empty spot where Chance had been. He came to a screeching hault behind the Growlithe, small flames dancing on his ears and mane, but he shook them off, more or less unharmed by the tiny burns, and leapt at the Growlithe, Biting the back of his neck at the nape. He swung his weight, attempting to throw the canine off-balance.

Blitzkrieg whirled around, surprised to feel the canine's maw around his neck. He was used to acting quick, though, as many of the fights he'd participated in while hanging in the city were dirty like this. The Eevee attempted to flip him, but he shifted his weight to his advantage and unlatched the fox from his neck with a swift swing of his head.
The tabby dog smirked at his opponent. "[Nice,]" he complimented, impressed. So, he was evenly matched in both skill and being a cheating asshole. He liked it. Blitz started another counter attack with a Flamethrower, the flame searching across the field like a side-ways volcanic eruption. Unbeknownst to spectators, however, the dog ran behind his fiery shot with surprising agility and just as the flame was nearing his foe, he burst through it and let it cloak his fur, sprinting through the short distance in between with a Flame Wheel.

Chance scoffed at the canine's compliment, and his long tail whirled around like a whip, giving him the momentum to land lightly on his feet. When he saw the flamethrower coming he ducked, but his back and the top of his head were still singer by the flames, and as he saw Blitz whirling out of the fire, all he could do was brace against it. But he was nearly flat on the ground and he suspected that, though he still absorbed part of the blow- mostly the burns -he'd also serve as the perfect obstacle that the rapidly-moving Growlithe could not avoid.

Blitz narrowed his eyes as he noticed the Eevee flatten himself to the ground. Making another last-second decision, his fiery cloak vanished and he used the canine's head as a launching pad, twisting his body in the air and opening his mouth to shoot out a spiraling string of fire than surrounded the Normal Type like a raging, flaming vortex.
He stumbled slightly as he landed, his fur on end. He was used to changing his attacks quickly on the field of battle, but he was a little rusty. Usually it only took his Take Down-Flame Burst decoy to down an opponent. Finishing his Flame Wheel probably would have been more effective, but he didn't want to risk tripping and somersaulting across the ground. That would leave him more vulnerable than he was clearly comfortable with.

As soon as Blitz had launched himself off Chance's already sore head the Eevee whirled around to face him and that was enough time to see what the Growlithe was going to do. He turned away from the oncoming flames in one lithe circular motion, kicking up dirt and grass as he did so, and began to kick furiously at the ground in a Sand Attack. It was enough to cause a falter in the fire vortex, and through the flying dirt and spinning flames he true to lock his aim on Blitz,. But his moment of opportunity was too short, and he took his chance when the fire faltered to barrel through. For a moment he was engulfed in flames before he came out the other side, burnt and fatigued but still ready to fight. He parted through his teeth, and his tail lashed as he turned the few degrees necessary to fully face his opponent. A sly smirk graced his face. "I don't trap easy." If anything, his bravado was still holding up. This was a tough battle, but he still felt pretty confident. It was actually fun to have an opponent who could keep up with him.
Is tail was a filthy mess of dirt and soot and, seizing the opportunity, he lashed it forcefully Blitz, endi a vile clud of more and mud at the Growlith Then he darted sideways, out of direct range of another firey attack.

"[Don't get too cocky, Kid,]" the canine defied through slitted eyes, trying to ignore the pain and itch to rid the dirt from his eyes, yet any second he wasted clearing his vision would undoubtedly be used to the younger Pokémon's advantage. He was growling under his breath, to distract himself from the grime on his face. At least it appeared that his flames had singed Chance's fur.
"[You like clouds? Me too. Here, let me show you,]" he barked out, stretching open his maw. Pointed, white teeth protruded from the bottom and roof of his mouth, but were soon out of sight as a massive portion of their fighting field was covered in heavy smoke. Being smoke from his body, it had no effect on his vision, so he used this opportunity to wipe away the ash from his eyes. Along with his Smoke Screen, heat began to emit from his body in the form of a Heat Wave, accept it wasn't so much of a blast as a scorching mugginess.
He used the thick, black clouds as coverage as he pondered what a smart next move would be.

Chance was blindsided by the heavy smoke as it effectively stopped him in his tracks. He wrinkled his nose as he tried not to cough, trying desperately to see through the smoke.
His first clue as to where Blitz was was the balmy heat he felt emanating through the darkness. Since he could not use it to pinpoint where his opponent was, he tried to get out of range of the smoke, dancing back until he either ran into something or could not feel the heat of the Overheat anymore. He wasn't going to try and hunt down Blitz when he knew he didn't have the advantage; regardless what he did at this point, it was dangerous for him unless he thought if something. So for now he was bidding his time... and bidding his time, he realized, really made his burns sting. It was easy to forget you were in pain when you didn't have to think about it, but damn, fire hurts.

Blitz circled around behind the Eevee, but figured that was predictable enough. Maybe if he came from above...? But he didn't know how he could pull that off. Maybe he himself couldn't do it, but... He inched backwards, further into the smoke. He squatted on his hind legs and shoot Flame Bursts into the air, which were like dangerous little seeds, engulfed in flames. When they touched the ground, they would burst, much like the move's name implies, and he's sent a good dozen in Chance's direction.

Chance looked up as he saw the balls of fire falling down around him. He grimaced, seeing where the situation had led him, and began zig-zagging through the falling blitzes. But he could not completely avoid their explosions as they hit the ground, and his fur was dappled with black spots where fire had eaten away at his skin. He was driven back into the smoke in his mad dash to avoid the worst of the Flare Blitz and unknowingly plowed into Blitz himself.

Blitz squinted through the smoke, just in time to see the large Eevee ram into him in a blur of smoking fur and confusion. The duo rolled backwards, Blitz sputtering smoke and spit as he landed on his back. He growled, regaining his senses and just about to Flamethrower in his opponent's face when the two were interrupted by a shout.
"[Delilah's egg is hatching!]"
Blitz tried to not let it distract him, but suddenly Tormund, Ellie's Luxray, stepped out and demanded that they stop and come watch the ceremony.

Chance lifted himself from the ground and shook his head. His ear twitched as he raised a brow. "[...Who?]"
"[Heh... Finally!]" Austin chuckled, trotting after the others. "[Come on, Chance.]"
"[Why, what's going on?]" He hopped up and limped after the younger Eeveelution, glancing sideways at Blitz as he did so.

Blitz sat up and shook out his fur, ridding it of small dust particles. He watched as Chance began to limp after Austin, not noticing Chris trot down from the hill and sat beside him. The Growlithe caught the sideglance that the tall Eevee shot him and he chuckled. "[I'm not going to attack you,]" he assured him.
Chris nosed him to his feet and the two began following Tormund. The large Luxray began to pick up the pace and sooner than not, they were at the barn. The throng that crowded the Delcatty and Charizard consisted of familiar faces. Blitz peeked through the Pokémon. Months ago, he would have cheerfully been piping near the front to make room so he could see, but... the whole city experience... He shook his pelt and repressed the memories to the back of his head.
The egg was quivering between Delilah's paws. The loving Delcatty was unsure of whom to beam at; her expecting son or daughter, her husband, or the dozens of friends who had come to witness the birth of their child.
