"Maybe he was abandoned," Tunes mused, frowning at the thought. "Maybe they both were." She rubbed the back of her neck as she raked her brain for things the houndoom might want from them. She hadn't been paying much attention to it at the time; now nothing came to mind.
"You have made her very happy," Note stated, his eyes still on the door through which she had retreated. He turned back toward her. "Maybe she'll actually be in a pleasant mood for the next couple days."
Fire's tail wagged at the thought. "[Yes, when I was little. Only for a little while though. It was really great, I can't wait to go back!]"

"Maybe..." Milo frowned. Zane mimicked his brother's expression and gestured for his Weavile to return to him. Asher obeyed, but also waved for the Houndoom and Mightyena to come along. Zane's brows pressed together in confusion. "Seriously. What do they want?"
"I'm glad," Ellie hummed, smiling brightly down at the hybrid.
"[Ellie's improved the ranch, too. So it's probably going to be even better the second time,]" he winked, a genuine smile embedded onto his muzzle.

Tunes watched the Pokémon blankly for a minute. Her eyebrows knit together. "Do they want to follow us?" she wondered dubiously.
Note smiled as he watched her go, and he thought for a second. "I did get one more Pokémon since I saw you last, I think," he said. "Remember that egg that your friend gave me?"
Firecracker grinned at him. "[Sounds fantastic! I can't wait to see it!]"

Zane stared at the Houndoom and Mightyena before beginning to continue to walk. "If they want to follow, they will. Otherwise, I have no idea what they may want from us."
"Really?" the blonde inquired, turning to face her friend. "Oh, you mean Nick? What did it hatch into?" she demanded to know, eyes wide.
The shiny Pokémon nodded and yawned. "[If you care for spoilers, ask Lucette,]" he paused and gestured over to the slumbering Emolga, ["and she'll gladly give you the entire rundown, detail for detail,]" he chuckled, stretching and pressing his small body against the couch.

Tunes watched him, and then she turned and followed. She took the lead as Zane started to veer in the wrong direction, lightly giving his shirt sleeve a tug to get him to follow her.
Nikki shuffled uneasily as they walked away. "[So what, Sol? Do we follow them?]" she asked excitedly.
Note grinned. "A female shiny Ponyta. Well, she's a Rapidash now. Easiest Pokémon I've ever trained."
Firecracker's eyes shifted to the emolga thoughtfully for a second, and then she shrugged. "[No, I think I'll wait. I love surprises.]"

Zane blinked as he felt a tug on his sleeve and turned to give Tunes a questioning look before beginning to follow her.
"[Yeah,]" the canine barked to her excitedly, treading after the trio at a steady pace.
Ellie's eyes rounded. "Oh, I heard they have blue manes. She must be beautiful!" she grinned. "What did you name her? Oh, and Nick will be very happy to hear the news. Why don't I call him over so he can come and visit us when we head to the ranch tomorrow?"
The now-groggy electric dog smiled, light eyes shut. "[Just make sure not to mention that you haven't seen the ranch lately or Luc will tell you regardless...]"

Nikki watched him for a moment, but then she eagerly ran after him. He was gushing with the anticipation of seeing Donetello again. He'd be so impressed with how strong she was. Maybe she could even take him on now!
"Flamity," Note replied. "Emily named her, actually. And yeah, she's pretty cool. I'd love to show her to Nick."

Ellie listened to him, though her eyes were drawn elsewhere. She gazed outside of the window, the moon smoldering the darkening sky. "Do you think they're alright...?"

Note frowned and followed her gaze to the window. "They're alright," he replied reassuringly. "They must have... stopped for something... is all." He didn't like the way that sounded to him as he said it, but it was all he could think about to say.

Ellie decided that for the time being, she'd trust both Note's words and the defensive capability of her brothers and Tunes. The female pinch the skin between her eyes and yawned, leaning back against the wall. "I didn't think I'd be so tired today..." she murmured unexpectedly.

Note raised a brow at the comment and crossed the room to stand next to her. "Long day?" he guessed.

"It didn't feel that long," the blonde murmured, sliding down the wall until she was sitting down with her back pressed against the wall and her knees raised. Her head rested lazily on her left shoulder and she suppressed another yawn. "I thought that the day we reunite would be filled with late night partying and drunken brawls," she teased a short huff of a laugh emitted from her soft lips. It was clear however, that the girl had somewhat tired out and was in no condition to go roaming through the city like she had initially planned.

Note didn't mention that he had been anticipating that, too. Oh well; they'd have time for that later, right?
He sat down next to her and put his arm around her shoulders, gently pulling her toward him. "Poor Ellie. You just have no stamina, do you?" he teased, flashing her a charismatic smile.

Ellie let herself be pulled into him, a sleepy grin on her face. "I spent the entire day walking around trying to find your lazy ass," she countered quickly, though all in good nature. She swatted her hand in front of the boy, content on trying to retain her tomboyish attitude in front of the teenager.

"I wasn't hiding," he chuckled, catching her hand as she swatted at him. He intertwined their fingers and kept his hold. "Maybe you just weren't looking hard enough."
