Tunes shook her head in disbelief, her eyes still fixed on her brother. This was happening, told herself, trying to clear her hazy mind. They could save him. He was still alive. "We have to do something, Ellie," she whispered, her hands shakily reaching forward and pressing into the bleeding wound on his chest. His blood streamed between her fingers, turning them to a deathly red, but she ignored it and applied pressure, trying to make the bleeding stop.
Persian lept onto the desk, bowling into Solitaire with a manacing yowl and knocking him onto his back. The feline growled lowly, his tail lashing. "I hate dogs. Such arrogant creatures." His claws extended and he raked them across Solitaire's cheek.
Giovanni watched in silent amazement. Of course his Persian was strong, but he did not know if he had ever seen it openly attack another Pokémon without an order. The feline was usually so mild...
His gaze turned sharply back to the hybrid, who was prowling toward him with a look that ensured that he would not come out alive on the other end. Dark embers flitted through its parted teeth, and he could feel the heat and darkness coming from it. He jumped from his chair, pulling his gun from the desk and pointing it at the creature.
The sight of the gun simply enraged EV more, and the ball of dark fire growing in her mouth shot out prematurely, enveloping the man's hands. With a shrill, pained cry the gun fell to the floor, clanking loudly as it did so, and Giovanni pulled his charred hands to him, screaming a line of curses.

Ellie let out a shaky sigh. "I-I know. B-But how?" She hated being so vulnerable, just watching as her friend's life drained in her arms. Why couldn't hyper potions work on humans?
Solitaire blinked in surprise, letting out an off and the Persian sent him bowling off of the desk and drew his claws along his cheek. "Ow, hey man, that's not cool," he grumbled, furrowing his brow. "That's really not cool," he growled, flames traveling through his body before he opened his mouth and scorched the feline's face.
"And please, save your breath. If you haven't noticed yet, what you say doesn't really concern me. Meow, meow, meow?" he mocked, his chest trembling with a snort.

Tunes turned and ripped a piece of cloth from the bottom of her shirt. She fumbled with it as her trembling hands balled it into a square and she pressed it to the wound. Was the bleeding lessening? She couldn't tell, but she had to keep trying.
Persian reared back with a shocked yowl and shook his head roughly. His whiskers singed off and his face nearly black.
"Persian!" Giovanni cried, getting the cat's attention. He turned, rushing back to his master, and stood beside him, the fur along his spine rising.
Donetello ran to Solitaire's side. "Are you alright?" he asked, before his gaze shifted to the two Pokémon and Giovanni.

Ellie looked at her back of medicines. "Should we try..? Or would that just make it worse?" she questioned, her lip quivering. She wanted to help somehow but all she had was a bag of Pokémon medicines. She wouldn't make the same mistake in the future.
Solitaire was rubbing his cheek as Don walked over. "Yeah, I'm alright," he mumbled, looking at his blood-smeared forepaw. "Son of a bitch," he scowled, narrowing his eyes. He quickly lightened the mood with a boyish chuckle. "You should be asking Persian that question," he noted, jerking his head towards the charred-muzzle feline.

Tunes shook her head. "I don't think it would work," she whispered shakily, pulling one of her hands back as the cloth she had been using seeped through. She looked around desperately for something else to use to stop the bleeding. Panic shook her when she saw that Note was as white as a sheet and growing cold. What could she do? He was going to bleed to death!
Donetello looked up, grimacing at the scene that was taking place before him.
With a snarl EV leaped forward, and Persian met her halfway. The two fell to the ground entangled in a vicious battle that sent them rolling through the room in circles as each clawed for control over the other.

Ellie looked around. "Sh-Should we sneak him out?" she whimpered. They were running out of options. She pulled off her pink hoodie and pressed it against his wound. She couldn't let him die!
Solitaire snorted as Vivian tackled Persian to the ground. While they wrestled, the Houndour wiggled his rear end and fired another Flamethrower at Giovanni. When he said that he would pay, he meant it.

Tunes bit her lip. Could they carry Note down four flights of stairs? They had no card key for the elevator. What if they got attacked? "Do you think we can?" she asked fearfully. She looked around the room. Could one of the Pokémon carry him out?
The chaotic battle taking place between EV and Persian finally ended when the feline was slammed to the ground on his back, EV's claws at his neck pinning him to the ground. Her chest heaved as she panted heavily, her exhaustion coupled by the bullet wound on her chest. A crimson drop dripped onto the Persian's cream coat as she stood over him, her eyes burning with fury.
Giovanni let out a horrible cry as he was enveloped in fire. As his form went up in flames Donetello watched, his tail lashing as he stood by his companion. He was shocked by the hollow feeling he felt from watching the man suffer. It had been a long time since he had felt this bitter at a human, almost enjoyed watching him writhe in pain. The feeling was foreign, but not completely new.

Pokémon... An idea suddenly sparked in her mind. "A-Actually, yes! We need to get him out of this room and find my Meganium!" she answered quietly, yet at the prospect of getting Note out of there and to safety excited her a little bit. We can make it! Just hold on, Note!
Solitaire snickered, his sadistic nature enlightened at the human's agony. He looked up at Don and gestured towards the human with a nod of his head. "You wanna do the honors? He shot your Trainer," he reasoned. Solitaire would never understand what Don found so appealing about living with a human, but he knew that he loved him, and Giovanni had shot him; he was sure the Houndoom was feeling bitter.

Tunes looked at her for a moment before looking around the room. The door was not far, and there was nothing blocking their path.
A sadistic snarl ripped from Donetello's throat. "Gladly," he muttered. His chest swelled, and he released a torrent of fire that set the room ablaze. The man disappeared into the blaze without a sound, and as the fire cleared there was no definition between Giovanni's cooked corpse and the charred wall.
EV raised her clawed hand, the metal claws glinting in the light of the fire before she ran them across Persian's throat. The feline did not even have a chance to make a noise before his throat was ripped out, and blood splashed the pretty new carpet. EV looked down at her work, unsatisfied. She looked up at the charred remains of Giovanni and scowled.

Ellie looked up at the smell of burnt flesh. Fire we beginning to cackle through the room. "Now we have no choice, we have to get him out of here! I don't have Elouise with me to put out the fire!" The suddenly felt terribly guilty. This was the region's prized Radio Tower. She had to do something to save not only it, but her best friend, too. "If we hurry, maybe I can return with Elouise to save what I can." She gripped Note strongly in her arms and began towards the door. "Flora!" she called, and watched with relief as the Meganium approached her. She draped Note securely onto her back. "Hurry, we have to get out of here. Raichu, Hannibal!" She called, thankful as the two Pokémon showed up. But if the building was burning... all those other Pokémon... She couldn't just leave them to burn alive... Oh, hell, what was she supposed to do?!
Solitaire looked at the burning walls around him. "Hey, uh, I think this is a good time to hit the road," he mused, as if he wasn't at all itched by the flames engulfing the room. He trotted towards the door, stopping to stretch before following the team of Trainers and their Pokémon. He couldn't wait to get out to the city and see his gang again.

EV turned, running after Ellie and Flora as Note was carried away. She skidded to a halt in the doorway, looking over her shoulder impatiently. "Donetello!"
The Houndoom stood stiffly, his eyes on the charred remains of the man he had helped torch. He did not know why, but he could not bring himself to move.
"Don!" EV roared, running forward and biting his tail. "Move it!"
He spun around, more out of the pain in his tail than what she was saying, and he followed her out the door as they raced down the stairs.
Tunes spared a glance into the room before following Ellie down the stairs. She was feeling the same guilt as Ellie: All these Pokémon did not deserve the same fate as Giovanni. They had to save the building and the Pokémon.

"What do we do?" she whimpered. She couldn't just pile all the Pokémon onto Flora's back and there was definitely no way she was carrying them out herself; it was physically impossible. Note needed attention quickly, but these burning flames weren't going to wait til they came back with help before the whole place was nothing but a pile of ash and charred corpses... some of which would belong to innocent Pokémon. She couldn't let that happen.
Solitaire strolled down the stairs, looking at all the Pokémon he passed. At first, he ignored the fact that these Pokémon would all be burnt to a crisp, but his softer side began to sympathize with them. Gees... One of these guys coulda' been potential gang members, he realized, frowning. Maybe he could help the Trainers get some of the Pokémon out... just this time... and... just for the Pokémon. But he wasn't a Houndoom, which was much bigger, so the Houndour could only do so much.

Tunes looked around the room remorcefully, biting her lip. Finally something came to her. "I have an idea." She pulled out a Pokéball, releasing her Pidgey, and then she produced her notepad. She scribbled a quick message.
SOS At Radio Tower! Giovanni defeated, but building on fire! One shot. Pokémon in danger. PLEASE BRING HELP!
She handed the note to Aviator, the Pidgey. "Go find help, Aviator," she told the bird Pokémon quickly. "Fast! Get help!"
The Pokémon trilled obediently and flew off, exiting through a window on the other side of one of the smokey rooms. She watched him go anxiously. There was no guarantee that Aviator would find anyone willing to help, or that he'd find something willing in time. But it was all she could think to do.
Donetello swore he felt physical pain at the thought of so many Pokémon dying this way. It was all his fault; he should have controlled himself, should have been more careful. The building was on fire because of him. He had to do something. Some of these Pokémon were so young; he knew some of them never had a choice in this. Turning from the trainers, he ran into the room, pulling out the young Pokémon from the carnage. The small ones, the ones he could carry.
EV watched him with a belittling expression. "You can't save them all," she growled, disgusted by the futility of her teammate's effort.
Don ignored her. Sure, she might be right. Maybe he was making a mistake. But he had to do something.

Solitaire watched as Don began to pull out the younger and smaller Pokémon. Huh... "You know, Don," he mused calmly, glancing at the large boxes in storage on the level he was on. "If that green lady brings down your human to a safe place, you think we could toss all of the kids into a box and let her haul them outside?" he mused, trying to hide his concern for the Pokémon.
Ellie watched as the Pidgey fluttered away. "I hope he finds help," she whimpered, gently letting her fingertips brush against the wounded teenager's cheek.

Don looked up at Solitaire, enthralled by the idea. He nodded enthusiastically and grabbed one of the boxes, bringing it over and starting to gingerly pile the little Pokémon inside. If Flora could not do it, then he would bring the box down himself. He would find a way.
He turned sharply as he saw Vivian standing idly by the door, watching him with a blank face. "Are you going to sit there or help me!?" he demanded.
The hybrid jumped in surprise, her ears flattening indignantly. Her eyes swept the room, but she did not move.
Aviator glided through the air over the city, looking for sign of any humans that were not clad in Team Rocket uniforms. The Rocket numbers had dwindled, but people had still not emerged from their houses. Finally he spotted two people in regular trainer apparel and he let out a triumphant cry as he swooped towards them. He landed on the ground before them, hopping up and down with his trainer's letter in his beak.
