Ellie sat, peering through the thick glass out into the deep, blue ocean whose waves lapped hungrily against the shore. In the distance she could spy Pokémon leaping out of the water gracefully, sending droplets of water flying after them. Napoleon, her trusted starter stood beside her, almost as awestruck as she was. Maria was next to him, clinging sweetly to his arm. The ampharos was always so happy in the lighthouse, especially with Napoleon beside her. She liked visiting her cousin, too. Amphy was the one who lit up the towering lighthouse. He'd been sick before and couldn't light up, and it'd been up to Ellie to get a special remedy to heal him. But it wasn't time to dwell on the past; now it was time to look forward to the future. They'd just defeated the Pokémon League and now they would just relax for a year or so before heading off to their next destination; Hoenn.

Donatello collapsed as he reached the top steps of the lighthouse, panting heavily. Note slowly walked up after him, followed by Judis and Victoria, who were nearly as tired as their companion. Vivian took her time coming up after them. Her mane and tail shimmered with moisture, still thoroughly soaked from the battles she had been in. As she walked to the top room of the lighthouse, she shook off, sending water everywhere. Donatello growled weakly, but too tired to move, he did nothing else. The Umbreon-Flareon hybrid snickered, and Note looked at the four Pokémon before him, relieved. It had been hard, but they had finally made it to the top of the lighthouse. His eyes shifted around the room for the prize that was supposed to be waiting for him there.

A Camera Man noticed the boy come up the steps and hurried over to him. "Congratulations. I can tell this is the first time you've made it to the top! Here's your prize," The wily man grinned, taking out his thick lensed camera and lining up the boy and his Pokémon before snapping a shot of the tired group. He handed the picture to Note, acting oblvious to their pain and exhaustion. "A lovely picture! Absolutely fantastic! You can send it to family members to know you're well or put in a scrapbook and it's absolutely free!" He bellowed enthusiastically.
Ellie turned around and giggled sweetly as the Fire Pokémon and their Trainer were getting their picture taken. They all looked tired from the long trek up the lighthouse, and getting a simple snapshot probably wasn't the prize they were expecting. Sympathy bubbled in her chest, but she couldn't help but find it amusing aswell.

Note stared at the man stupidly, too tired to comprehend how badly he had just got ripped off. He took the picture, still staring at the man. Victoria jumped up to see it, and her brow furrowed. She let out an irritated noise and growled at the camera man, before turning and stomping away. From where he lay on the ground, Donatello made a sound that would have scared Death himself.
Vivian trotted toward them and snatched the picture out of Note's hand. She took a couple paces back and placed it on the ground, smirking. She was only partially in the picture, and the only one that did not look ready to faint. she snickered, glancing at Donatello. The Houndoom simply averted his eyes. He was too tired to argue with her.

Angelo cocked a brow as he watched the Fire Type Pokémon frighten off the poor Camera Man. The cheeky Umbreon snorted in contempt; he remember how peeved he'd been to get a stupid picture as a reward, but watching someone else's misery was more entertaining than he thought. This would have been a better prize. The snarky Dark Pokémon flashed a curious glance at the Flareon-looking creature before turning back to Ellie, who seemed to be gazing at the Trainer. What was on his jumpy trainer's mind now? Whatever it was, the canine Pokémon was sure to stay out of it. He felt a firm paw on his shoulder, looking up to Napoleon staring down wistfully at the black fox. Angelo's eyebrows furrowed. The father-figure like Pokémon always seemed to be able to read him. He mumbled and trotted away from Napoleon, growling under his breath with the Dragonite tooth on his necklace swaying with every stride. He'd knocked it out of Bruce when they'd gone training. He wasn't sure if the orange dragon still forgave him or not; wearing it as a trophy probably didn't help though.

As the camera man skittered away Note slowly got to his feet. He slid the picture away from Vivian and put it in his pocket. The fox Pokémon smirked at him, waving her tail. He had finally gotten to the point where he knew exactly what she was thinking when she looked at him like that. She knew this whole lighthouse quest had been a waste of time.
He pulled off his backpack and started pulling out potions and berries for each Pokémon. Judis and Victoria each got a berry, and Don get a super potion. After a moment he paused, and looked again at Vivian. After a moment, he decided that she was fine. He zipped the bag up and put it back on his back. As he did he noticed Ellie and her Pokémon on the other side of the lighthouse. He grimaced jokingly. "Did you get a picture, too?" he said.

Ellie gave the boy a sympathetic look, rubbing the back of her neck nervously. "Yeah, but a long time ago," She chuckled shyly, not knowing if she should approach him or not. She looked at his mysterious Pokémon with black rings raising an eyebrow. She wanted to ask him what it was--it looked like some sort of Flareon--but she assumed he'd probably been asked that before. Ellie knew how much she hated repetition and maybe he was the same way. Instead, the hesitant blonde stuck out her hand, gazing at the boy with wide, blue eyes. "We just beat the Pokémon Leauge," Do I sound like I'm bragging? "And came here to celebrate. Err... I'm Eleanor, but you can call me Ellie for short." She greeted, keeping her tone friendly.
Angelo rolled his eyes. "(Oh no. Here we go again,)" He growled to no one in particular, moving back to the end of the horde.

"Impressive," he said, shaking her hand and smiling fondly. "My name's Eli... Call me Note."
Now feeling a little better, Donatello slowly got to his paws and stretched. He looked down at Judis and Victoria. [You guys feeling better now?] Judis smiled up at him and nodded. "[Yeah.]

Ellie blushed sheepishly at the compliment, shaking his hand. "It's nice to meet you," She grinned, letting go of his hand and letting it drop back to her side. She beckoned over to her team, putting her arm over Napoleon as her faithful companion joined her by her side. "This is Napoleon." She introduced the fire badger for himself as he bowed. Maria joined his side, nodding her head. "And that's Maria. She's Amphy's cousin," She mused, pointing a finger at the Ampharos in the center of the room, enclosed a crystal-colored wall. "And that bitter Umbreon over there is Angelo," She sighed as the Dark Pokémon curled his lip at his trainer. Where had she gone wrong with him?

Note raised his eyebrows when she introduced Maria. It certainly was an honor to have a Pokémon that was related to another with such an important job. When he glanced at Angelo, he was immediately reminded of his first couple weeks with Vivian.
Donatello had come to his side, and naturally the puppy and fox Pokémon had bounced after him. He put his hand on the fire dog's head as he introduced him. "This is Donatello," he said. Don dipped his head as his name was said, looking up at Ellie. "The Growlithe is Judis, and the Vulpix is Victoria." He gestured to the two younger ones at his feet, who simply wagged their tails in greeting to the other trainer and her Pokémon. "And she..." He paused, looking around to see where his latest addition to the team had gone. When he saw her- he was sitting near the glass, looking out attentively at the ocean- he said, "She's Vivian." The fox Pokémon pretended not to hear him, but he knew that she had. Note was content in the fact that she did not spin around and growl at them.

Unable to hold back her curiousity, the young teenager inquired, "I hope I don't sound rude, but what kind of Pokémon is she? I've never seen one like her before," She mused, hoping she wasn't being offensive to the boy or the secluded canine.
Angelo glanced sideways, his red eyes peircing. He noted one of the Fire Pokémon, the Flareon thing, was staring out the window, a little ways from where he was. He furrowed his brows before turning away, wrapping his fluffy, yellow-ringed tail around his small black paws.

Note looked again and Vivian, and then quickly back. He grinned. "No offense at all, I've been asking myself the same question ever since I caught her. I think she's an Umbreon and Flareon mix, but I'm not sure..." He shrugged, smiling apologetically. "I caught her as she is now, so I don't know what she was before she evolved.... if she was an Eevee, or something else."
Sensing Angelo's gaze, Vivian turned to look at him, a thoughtful frown on her face. "What?" she demanded.

"Oh," Was all that slipped out of the blonde's mouth. Tapping her toes against the ground wearily, she glanced back at the mix. "Angelo over there was the sweetest Eevee the world had ever seen... I don't know what happened when he evolved." She frowned, looking towards the dark canine. "He's a hard nut to crack..." She sighed, arms drooping.
Angelo flattened his ears as Vivian turned to him, frowning. He narrowed his eyes as she questioned him. Without answering, the Umbreon looked away. He didn't want to deal with a snarky mutant; he just wanted to go back to the ranch and take a nap.

Note frowned, perplexed. He had been lucky; most of his pokemons' bad behavior had reversed when they evolved. He had no answers for Ellie. "Maybe he's just adjusting to being an Umbreon?" he offered, at a loss of what else to say.
Seeing that the Umbreon was making a point to ignore her, she sneered and slowly started toward him, making her steps deliberate and intimidating. [Don't act like you can't hear me, you little maggot,] she taunted, baring her teeth in a maniacal smile. Her metal nail extensions gleamed in the light; she wondered how badly she could scare him before someone told her to stop.

"I hope it's just a phase," She sighed, agreeing and running her hand stressfully through her hair. She looked at her feet, not quite sure what to say. She hadn't really talked to anyone in a while. Aside from her family, there were just old pedophilic hikers and twerps around here.
As an eevee, Angelo would have tucked tail and fled, but he just stared coolly at Vivian from the corner of his eye. "(I heard you. I just choose not to engage in a conversation with a creature of questionable descent,)" He snorted, a wicked grin playing on his lips. "(Make all the noise you please, little robot,") He snickered, glancing at her metal claws before making eye contact with her calmly.
