overall personality : two short (or one long) paragraphs (minimum) about personality Charlie is a kid who's been through a lot thanks to having very little. Her upbringing and experiences have left her wary of people and feeling inadequate for Pokémon. She's reserved and standoffish because not talking to people keeps her safe. She's afraid of doing more and trying new things because she doesn't dare risk what she has. She doesn't know what she wants from life because she's only thinking about getting through the next day. At her best, Charlie is inquisitive, careful, and considerate. At her worst she's abrasive, suspicious, and apathetic. She's never learned to cultivate her interests and aspirations and doesn't care about helping others do the same. After all, no one has ever helped her, so why should she help anyone else? All in all, she just wants to be left alone so she can continue to survive. Help would be nice, but help comes at a price too high for her to pay, so she's better off relying on no one but herself. Due to no intention of her own, she tends to carry herself like a boy, from her appearance to her way of moving. She doesn't mind being misgendered; she doesn't have a strong enough sense of self to care about how people see her, and being mistaken for a boy just puts up another wall of ambiguity between her and the people around her. the history mother : Rayne Rosenburg father : unknown siblings : none home town: Motostoke current residency: Homeless other important people : Charlie was born in Motostoke to a single mother who struggled to make end's meet. The two lived in poverty for the first several years of Charlie's life until she was old enough, in her mother's view, to take care of herself: about 7. Her mother then shifted from short term dead end jobs to sex work. While this brought in more money, it also brought untrustworthy people to Charlie's home, and she was abused by these people more than once. What was more was that the more money her mother earned, the worse she was with it. For a short time, the cupboards were filled and the bills were paid. Then, as the fun money grew, Charlie found less and less to eat around the house, and her mother home less and less, too. Soon bills would go unpaid, as her mother wasn't home enough to justify keeping the power on. Charlie, now 10, began venturing out to find food and resources for herself. Her success was mixed, and she tends to linger on the bad more than the good. Soon her mother was almost never around, and when she was, she was a source of stress for Charlie, as she continued to bring around client and had a short patience with Charlie. It soon became clear to Charlie that life would be better for both of them if they didn't live together anywhere, so Charlie ran away from home. After struggling in the city, she manged to get some camping gear and moved to the Wild Area. Life was hard there, but easier in the city, since she could avoid other people and live off the land. The wild Pokémon posed their own challenge, however, and she often needed to leave the wild area to recover. She learned that Pokémon centers were the best places to stay, whether she had Pokémon or not. They were just awkward because people were so friendly there, and she had trouble explaining her situation. When she was 14, she got trapped out in the Wild Area during a typhoon. An injured Zigzagoon was slammed into her tent, and feeling bad for the little guy, she let him in and let him have a berry. She inevitably made a friend for life, and the Zigzagoon still follows her around. She hasn't caught him, as she feels she can't be solely responsible for a Pokémon when she struggles to take care of herself, but she enjoys his company nonetheless. the team Zigzagoon lv. 12 Item: Varies thanks to Pickup ability
