Ellie let out a sigh, the words finally sinking in. Not having the kids around was going to be hard to get used to.
In a single swoop, she gathered all three in her arms, hugging them as tightly as she could without damaging them. "Try to make it home for holidays, okay? Or... at least call," she pleaded, smiling wistfully as she gave all three kids a respective kiss on the forehead. Without flying Pokémon, it was maybe asking a bit much to get them home on time, but she knew they would ring them at the very least. "We'll still be here, whenever or wherever you need us."
Kids were always so stubborn about handling their tough situations themselves. She knew she had been. She and Note had taken on Team Rocket all on their own because they thought they could -- and they did manage, but not without injury. A part of her hoped they wouldn't be afraid to call if they had ever wrapped themselves up in anything similar to her adventures with Note, and another part of her knew they wouldn't. They were going on a journey away from home, building their character, independence, and their bond as siblings.
She led the trio outside, where Sarge and Elliot were waiting. "They'll fly you to New Bark Town," she explained, gesturing towards the dragons. It was the closest town to the border, and quite the peaceful one, Ellie had heard. She didn't want her kids to fall right into the pit of extreme battle, especially when two of them were working with Pokémon that were virtually untrained.
Sarge let out of a grunt and lowered his neck, allowing Eliza to climb on, but not without one last hug and kiss for her mother and father. Roy did the same, albeit a fraction more clingy, before climbing onto Elliot's back and holding his hand out for Chelle.
