"(Is... Is that a yes?)" she squeaked, cocking her head in confusion. After a couple frustrating moments of silence, she finally turned to Don, frowning. "(Oh...)"
The Jolteon's shoulder sagged and she let out a short sigh, turning her muzzle pointedly at the stage, though her gaze slipped back to the Manectric. She'd been really looking forward to talking to him.

Don frowned at the jolteon's disappointment, but upon sparing a glance at the disinterested manectric he looked away again. The show was beginning, and the lights went down.

In a blaze of lights, the contest was over. Some young lady and her Skitty were flaunting themselves all about the stage, while fans threw flowers and berries and whatever it was at her feet. Ellie quickly had enough of it, and with a roll of her eyes she left the auditorium, dragging Note along as always.
"So... that was different!" she breathed, rolling on her heels. "Not bad, but... I'm glad I took up battling over this stuff."
Ciara had gotten over the rude Manectric rather quickly. She had enveloped herself in the contest, watching the other Pokémon display their moves and costumes. This trip to Hoenn was turning out to be pretty special -- she didn't want to let some antisocial Electric 'mon ruin it. Even then, however, she hoped she could make a new friend before they returned home.

"Yeah... I'll stick to battling," Note chuckled. "But it was nice to watch."
Thea was in a tizzy after the contest, and now as running around, bouncing and mimicking the struts she had seen some of the contest Pokémon use on stage. The bustling lobby only served to excite the Vulpix even more, and her eyes shined as she looked around. "(Donetello, can we go see some of the contestants?)" she asked as she saw the dressing room up ahead.
"(I don't think so, Thea. We're go....)" He trailed off as he Thea ran between his legs, nearly knocking him over as she hurried toward the dressing room and disappeared through the door. His tail shot up, and he barcked "(Thea!)"

"Mhm," she agreed between closed lips, but she meant it genuinely. It was nice to see what was beyond the training grounds, even if she couldn't imagine herself up on that stage on her own.
Ciara had gotten over the Manectric in the auditorium progressively throughout the show. If she was being truthful, however, there was still a small part of her that stung in resentment. She didn't get to talk to other Pokémon much outside of Ellie's team. The other Pokémon in the ranch made her kind of nervous, and they were all so tied in with their own group. The Jolteon didn't know if perhaps any of them resented them for being part of Ellie's Gym team, since the majority of them had joined Ellie long after they had. She thought sometimes that maybe she would be upset, but... well, it was an Electric gym. That spoke volumes itself.
She was watching now, and giggling, as Thea strutted alongside Note. Maybe he would enter her into a competition one day -- she had just been a spectator but she already had fans!
The Jolteon wasn't close enough to hear whatever she and Don were saying though, among all the chatter already in the main room. The duo only recaptured her attention when the Vulpix darted off. "(Thea?)" she gasped, ears perking. In a swift bound, she rushed past the Houndoom, slipping around and between ankles with expertise.
With the sudden whisk past her leg, Ellie saw Ciara's fluffy golden fur weasel away into the crowd. "H-Hey! Ciara!"

Note's head shot up as he caught the tail end of the Joleteon rushing through the crowd, and he looked down and frowned as he realized that Thea was also missing. "Oh, shoot, Don, where are they going?" he asked, looking at the houndoom. Don's tail wrapped around his wrist, and he led the way as neatly as he could through the crowd, though by the time they made it to the dressing room, Thea was not so easy to pick out.
The Vulpix made it into the room uninhibited, and she trotted around inside wide-eyed and dazzled. A few of the contestants, their trainers, other Pokémon, and costumers and stylists were still bustling about, but the room was much less crowded than the hallway. She met the eyes of those who saw her readily, and received mostly amiable responses- tilts of the head, waves -except for the occasional puzzled stare, which wasn't enough to deter her.
Her gaze landed on the Pokémon who had taken second place in the contest, a friendly looking Pokémon she had never seen before. Its trainer had a painted on smile as he went around gathering up his things; from the look of his station, he appeared to have brought a lot. Toys, accessories, grooming products, berries and poffins littered the area, and he only seemed to notice the hings he was currently trying to gather up. She trotted up to the Pokémon, tails trembling excitedly. "(Hi!)"

Ellie frowned and followed after her boyfriend. She was a little nervous about entering the dressing room. It wasn't closed off to the public, necessarily, but "fans" weren't always the most welcome in there, just for privacy reasons.
It didn't take long for Ciara to reach the dressing room, but it was easy to lose the Vulpix in the sea of show Pokémon. "(Thea?)" she called out quietly, trying to not bring too much attention to herself.
The Delcatty was mid paw-lick when he heard a greeting that was supposedly directed towards him. He was salty about his second-place ribbon, his bulb-like tail wrapping restlessly against the chair leg. "(Oh, come to rub it in my face?!)" he growled, glaring at himself in the mirror. What had he done wrong... Oh, whatever it was, that Sandshrew was going to see just who the cutest Pokémon in Hoenn was.

Donetello released his trainer's wrist once they had entered the room, as he could not longer faithfully lead them wherever they needed to go. He slowed as they entered the room, wary, and peered around, but he couldn't catch sight of the little fire fox.
Likewise, Note was at a loss. "You don't think she'll cause trouble, do you?" he muttered to Ellie. Thea was very well-behaved for her age; that was why he had chosen to bring her along. But he had seen the excited look in her eye, and even the most well-behaved Pokémon acted foolish when they were starstruck.
"(Um, no,)" Thea replied, her smile faltering. "(Not at all. I just wanted to say that you were really great, and I had a really great time watching you!)"

"I hope not," Ellie muttered automatically, but realised quickly that her reply might have not been the most comforting. "Well, hey, this is Tori's pup, not... Chris," she tried to reason. It was no secret that her hybrid Pokémon would have caused a scene here, one way or another. If it wasn't from crumbling under the attention she got for her unique looks, it would most certainly be from what a ruthless hothead she could be. But this was Thea, not her mutt. She'd be fine, but even better once they found her.
"(Ugh!)" the Delcatty huffed, lifting his tail and squatting on his seat, his hindquarters bunched. "(Great!)" he repeated with a hiss, staring at his wide-eyed reflection. "(I was perfect! I presented myself flawlessly! My bow was on point! How could I have just done great?!)" The feline whirled towards her, a look of clear distress painted across his peach furred face.
"(Thea!)" Ciara called, feeling quite out of place among the make up and dresses. The Jolteon cursed under her breath for losing her, but refused to give up. She could hear her humans in the distance, but she felt obligated to get to the Vulpix first.

The jumped back in surprise, and she squirmed under the Delcatty's gaze. "(Um-)" she stammered, at a loss. Her tails curled nervously, and she took a step back. At the same time it occurred to her that it would be far worse to run than to stay. She fumbled over her words, but she managed, "(I don't know! I didn't mean... You were perfect!)" At the same time she caught the sound of her name, and she peered out of the corners of her peripheral vision, hoping to catch a sight of someone familiar and grasp the opportunity to excuse herself.

The Delcatty heaved, and his owner scrambled over with a brush to try and comfort his ruffled Pokémon.
Ciara's gaze, meanwhile, had been drawn towards the Pokémon who was clearly having some sort of break down, and by the bottom of the chair she caught a glimpse of orange fur in her peripheral vision. With her golden ears perked, the Jolteon leapt to investigate, relieved when she realised it was finally who she was looking for. "(Ah, Thea!)" she sighed as she got closer, clearly relieved. "(Note and Ellie are looking for you!)" The canine lifted her head, looking back to try and spot her humans, but frowned when she realised they too were not that easy to point out. "(...and I guess me too.)"

"(They are?)" Thea squeaked, relieved. "(Well, let's go find them!)" She scurried to the jolteon's side, happy to be rid of the tightly wound car.
The commotion got No he's attention, too, though he was unsure of what was going on. "El, over here," he said, motioning her after him as he picked his way across the room.

"(No need!)" the Jolteon replied, relief seeping through her tone. The golden canine looked back, greeted by the warm face of her humans.
"There you are!" Ellie sighed, picking up her Pokémon and hugging her against her chest. Ciara was thankfully quite light for her breed, which only served to help with her agility, and for hugging. Ciara nuzzled her Trainer and looked between Note and Thea expectantly. "Come on, Note," the girl nudged her boyfriend, still carrying the electric type, "let's get out of here. It smells too heavily of cheap perfume and hairspray."

"Your wish is my command." He scooped up Thea and with his free hand, he put his arm around Ellie's waist and guided her out the door.
The sky had darkened significantly since they had entered; a fierce wind had developed, and the blonds' hair was whipped around their heads as they stepped onto the street. Thea flinched and curled against Note, and Donetello's eyes narrowed. "El, do you have a place for us to stay?" Note called over the wind, pulling her close. He had no patience for this sort of weather, especially with the sea within sight. That was just too much water. Airborne. From the sea. Absolutely unacceptable.

Ellie huffed, narrowing her eyes as the wind whipped violently against her face. Instinctively, he squeezed Ciara closer to her chest, who in turn tried to hide her face against the girl's collarbone.
"Uhh..." the girl mumbled, creasing back her brows. "Good question!" She had intended to find an Inn of some sort, of course not at all taking the time to find out if there was one in Lilycove, or even relatively close by beforehand. Through her squinting gaze, she was able to spot the bright lights of a Pokémon Center close by. With Note's arm around her waist, the blonde started to move in its direction. While she wasn't as opposed to water as he was, Ellie wasn't too keen on getting drenched, and by the look of the clouds, if they didn't get to the Center fast, that's just what they would be.
