Ellie winced as she heard Donetello's yelp. Damn, I forgot to warn him!
Raichu heard the Houndoom's cry and quick-attacked over to the purple snake a fire dog, ramming his head into the Arbok's side. He couldn't use Thunderbolt, since he was bound to mix in the dark type with the attack. Instead, the Electric type leaned back and sent an Energy Ball hurling the Poison type's way.
Ellie rushed towards the stairs, stepping over unconscious Pokémon and pained grunts who'd taken some of her Pokémon hits. Near the top of the stairs, she called the other trainers. "How many are left?!" On top of the stairs, she sat down and pulled out a load of Hyper Potions, ready to spray the Pokémon who needed her aid.

"One," Note called, watching Donetello as he pulled himself to his feet.
Elliot was fixed on the massive Arbok, and he shot forward, sending the snake Pokémon flying. With a furious hiss the poison type sunk to the floor in defeat. Emily and Note raced up the stairs, and Elliot and Donetello followed. The dark fire type was limping badly as he came to the stairs and panting hard.

Ellie stepped aside to let them pass, but stopped Don in his tracks. "Shh, shh, stay still for a second, baby," she cooed in a surprisingly soft tone, taking the pink bottle and applying the medical spray to the dark dog's wounds. Patting him on the back, she kissed his forehead and ran up the stairs, followed by Flora, Hannibal, and Raichu. On the upper floor, the Rockets seemed to be on guard already, sending their Pokémon to fight more suddenly than the grunts they'd ambushed on the lower level.
Ellie gasped as one of the Arboks actually started to slither in her direction. She shrieked and kicked it in the face as it attempted to lunge, squirming away. Flora heard her trainer's scream and noticed her trying to fend off another Poison snake. The Grass Pokémon's veins bubbled with rage and she raised up as power overwhelmed her, shooting a Solar Beam at the malicious snake Pokémon.

Note looked up as he heard her cry, but when he saw the Maganium's attack he relaxed. He turned suddenly as Donetell attacked a Crobat that was coming toward him, pinning the bat Pokémon to the ground.
Elliot's glaws gleamed as he swatted several Crobat and Golbats out of the sky with a Metal Claw attack. Tunes danced around the fainted Pokémon, and the Charizard looked down at her, wide-eyed and apologetic.

Raichu toppled over a Meowth, batting at it with his paws. The Normal type withered and squirmed beneath the Electric type, hissing and spitting at his face. The Raichu, fed up, threw his forepaws into the air as his form was enveloped in electricity, zapping with Pokémon with a Thunderbolt. Pokémon around the tussling duo was bantered by sparks from the small explosion the thunder caused. Raichu leaped away from the now fainted Meowth and used Quick-Attack on another Pokémon near by.

Elliot turned sharply as he was attacked fom the front. He whirled to the ground hard enough to crush the tile, and Tunes cried out in surprise. A massive Golbat flew in the air above him, willing him to get up and battle. Elliot rose slowly, flexing his wings as he looked up at his opponent. The Golbat dove at him again, a shadow ball forming in its mouth, and he lunged forward, meeting the creature in the air with his mouth filled with fire. The two met in the air and en explosion large enough t knock nearly all the other Pokémon off their feet shook the building. Eliot slammed back into the ground with a pained growl, and Tunes rushed to his side worriedly.

Ellie's head whirled as an explosion racked the building. Her eyes widened, spotting Elliot on the ground with Tunes by his side. "Is he okay?!" She called in alarm as the smoke cleared. Just as it cleared, though, a Sneasel broke through the heavy grey blanket and pinned the blond down, smirking deviously.
The young trainer's blue eyes widened a respective amount. "H-Hannibal!" She cried, hoping her loyal companion would respond to her call. Fortunate for her, the Furret had already been on his way, using another Giga Impact to knock the Dark Type off of his trainer. The brushed herself off and looked toward her Furret to make sure he was okay.

The Golbet, stunned but still fighting, pulled itself from the ground, readying itself for another attack. This one, however, was aimed at Tunes.
"Emily!" Note shouted, seeing what was happening. He turned to Donetello, but the fire dog was locked in combat with two snake Pokémon. He ran forward, but the Golbat was faster than him, and he knew he could not get to her in time.
Suddenly a bolt of lightning short from Tune's pocket, striking the Golbat just as the attack was about to leave its mouth. The bat Pokémon let out a shrill cry as the electricity raked its body before dropping to the floor, twitching weakly. Lemondrop jumped from Tune's pocket, snorting indignantly as she stood, ready for battle. Tunes stared down at the tiny Pokémon in shock, her heart still hammering too hard for her to speak. Elliot slowly drew himself up, his head spinning. But he would be okay.
Donetello threw off the snakes as he finally gained the upper hand and turned toward the Rocket grunts, snarling viciously. One of them took a shaky step back, fearing that the Houndoom would attack.

Ellie clutched her chest, feeling as if her heart had jumped into her throat. She sat against a wall, watching the riot that was unfolding under her eyes. Her dull blond hair was messily scatted in front of her face from the excitement. She recovered her breath slowly and licked her drying lips before staggering to her feet and sprinting to the stairs with an awkward burst of determination and energy. "How many now?" She rung out, preparing two Hyper Potions in hand like a gun from the old west.
Flora looked towards her master, listening to her call. She looked around. There were a bit left to go. The Meganium cried out as Magical Leaf shot out towards an unsuspecting Gligar. The purple bat-like creature shrieked in surprise and collapsed to the ground, its wings shredded. All this devastation and disaster reminded Flora of how life had been as a Bayleef. She hated remembering it, but with all the power surging through her limbs, it was hard to forget the same feeling of excitement she'd ditched when she'd evolved.

Donetello looked as Ellie ran up the stairs, and as he turned back he was tackled to the ground by a massive Raticate. The rodent's fangs gleamed as it glared down at him, preparing to sink its teeth into him with a Hyper Fan attack.
"We've still got a while!" Note called, pulling out another Pokéball. He threw it, and in a burst of light Vivian was standing before them, her fur prickling with excitement. He had seen the raw power that the hybrid had; though she was not as a high a level as Elliot, she was just as strong, if not stronger, and unlike the Charizard he knew that she would not hold back. It was just what they needed right now as more Pokémon bombarded their team.
Without hesitation or an order EV leaped at the Raticate. A shrill cry rose from its throat as she shook it raggedly and then tossed it aside. Don rose to his paws quickly and looked at her, wary of the sadistic delight she took in such endeavors. As he saw the battlefield around them he knew they would need her, but he wondered if she would go too far.

Hannibal tuck-and-rolled under a Nidoking that tried to stab at him with his horn and claws. The normal type gulped; this guy was tough. He missed the old days were he could kick the ass of any Rocket that passed his sight, even when he was just a Sentret. Remembering one of his attacks though, his heart pounded with excitement as he forced his power on the Poison Type. The grass knot formed in the unsuspecting Pokémon's pit as Hannibal released the energy. The large Nidoking cringed and slid to the ground, holding himself up with his knees and right arm, the left one clutching his gut. Focused on his pain, the purple beast didn't even catch a glimpse of the brown-striped blur that nailed him in the forehead with a Sucker Punch.
Meanwhile, Raichu was stomping around, growling at the Pokémon around him. A Houndoom, who he was able to recognize as a Rocket and not Note's, snarled at him and lowered his torso. The dark canine tried to blast him with a Flamethrower, but the agitated electric mouse scorched him with a Thunderbolt.
Ellie swallowed her fear. She watched as the Pokémon mercilessly went for each others' necks. It was horrifying to watch, but Giovanni was harboring and deliberately torturing poor, innocent Pokémon. She didn't know if these Pokémon had been forced on Team Rocket, or were just as cruel as their owners. The idea that she could be beating helpless Pokémon made her heart clench. She loved Pokémon too much to let them maul each other like this. Maybe, after getting rid of Giovanni, she could restore these Pokémon and give them to trainers with open hearts...

A torrent of black flame engulfed a corner of the room and filled the room with head as EV sent a wicked Fire Blast at a group of unsuspecting Pokémon. Startled Rocket Pokémon of all sorts leaptt from the massive flame as it hit the wall and swirled in all directions. The room filled with a kind of dark heat. Donetello, like many other Pokémon in the room, lkfted his head, and a shiver ran down hiz spine. EV's fire was unlike anything else. It was not only hotter than regular fire, but also colder in an indescribable way that swnt shivers down one's spine and made dark haunting thoughts come to mind.
Note's Pokémon were somewhat used to it, but it left many Rockwt Pokémon, especially those that were not dark types, stunned. Don and Elliot took the opportunity to subdue several Pokémon quickly. The room was thrown into a state of disorientation as the heat of the fire gave way to to its colder, darker undertone.

Ellie coughed, covering her mouth with her shirt and squinting her eyes. "Are we ready?" she called, wiping the gathering soot from her icy blue eyes. Tears gathered at the tips and she had to blink several times. Locating her Pokémon to make sure they were okay was a pain. Her eyes had always been sensitive to sunlight, or little debris getting stuck in them and smoke... smoke was just as bad as debris and sunlight combined. "Note, Tunes, you guys holding up?" she called through the thin fabric that cupped her lips. From her stinging eyes, she caught sight of her Meganium on the opposite side of the room. Thank goodness!
Raichu shook his fur and shrugged it off like it was nothing. He'd seen a lot in his long life as Gym Leader Lt. Surge's favorite Pokémon. However, Vivian's appearance and strength unsettled him, but what kind of role model would he be to slink away like a little Caterpie? Instead, he took advantage of the stunned Pokémon and lashed out all his moves on them.

The disorientation of the crowd was more of a benefit than anything yet. It was not long before Don, Elliot, and EV had no opponents left. The Rocket grunts began to retreat and the Pokémon that were not unconscious reluctantly retreated with their trainers.
As Note saw that the retreating Pokémon he called for Donetello, seeing that the dark fire type was once again badly injured. Don limped to him, and the two made their way to Ellie as the other Pokémon finished off of what was left of the Rocket front.
A dark feeling of delight was blossoming in EV's chest as she fought the Pokémon around her. She could see how her attack had affected them, how thry had been overcome with fear and disorientation, if only for a moment. It made her feel incvincible, and she loved that. It was almost intoxicating, and ahe never wanted it to end. It showed in her fighting: she worked with a kind of aggresive, feral tenacity that was both fightening and enviable... to an extent, almost admirable.

Not hearing their voices, Ellie called again. "Note?" she whimpered, more clearly. She was distracted, however, by a limping figure from the corner of her eye. "Donny!" she almost squealed in surprise. She rushed over to his aid, whipping out her medicine and applying it to the hard-working Houndoom's wounds. "You're such a brave boy," she cooed in encouragement. They had to keep going and Don had to stay strong; they weren't even near Giovanni yet and that was going to be the toughest battle of their lives.
