Ellie smiled, determination smearing across her features. She sat there silently for a few moments before she slowly voiced, "But these grunts are tougher than usual. We'll have to use the strongest Pokémon we have," she warned warily.

Note and Tunes frowned. Note nodded, but Tunes looked down nervously. All her Pokémon were pretty weak except for Lemondrop. She had a level 40 Serviper, but he could be unpredictable. Would that be enough? There was no way to know for sure, and she suddenly felt very useless.
Note looked at her, and, reading her expression, said, "Emily, any of my Pokémon will listen to you if you don't want to risk the safety of yours."
The blond girl looked up at her brother, thanks shining in her eyes. "O... Okay."

Ellie raised a brow but said nothing. What Pokémon would she herself use? Flora for sure, but what other Pokémon could she risk using? From what she'd seen, most of them had been using Dark or Poison types, so Angelo would be rather useless but she didn't have any psychic Pokémon, either... She pulled out her Pokéball Belt and laid out all the Pokeballs in front of her. She saw Angelo's head raise from the corner of her eye and stare curiously at her.

"Who are you going to bring?" Note asked, looking at her belt curiously. He knew that Ellie had many more Pokémon than he or his sister had. With the lack of variation that his team had, he hoped that between Tunes and Ellie, they could cover his team's weaknesses.

"Err...." she mumbled, staring intently at the Pokeballs. "I'm definitely taking Flora. She's the strongest on the team." She grasped the Meganium's Pokéball and separated it from the others as if starting a pile of who she was going to bring and who she would leave behind for the battle. She looked over to her PC, wondering if her father would mind if she used one of his Pokémon... His Raichu was level 60 and even then was stronger than Flora by a few levels. She debated it silently in her head.

EV watched intently from where she sat. Chance, feeling the concentration in the room, grew a little wary. "Viv, what's going on?" he asked, looking up at the Umbreon hybrid curiously.
"They're planning something," she said, still watching the humans intently. "Some hardcore battle." She looked at Angelo, wondering if he had any better clue what was going on.

Angelo watched as Ellie moved her Pokeballs around, apparently sorting them. His brows furrowed as she moved Flora's to another pile. He quickly went over and grasped his own, placing it down next to the Meganium's. He only just caught EV's glance, turning around. "Ellie's been wanting to do this since Team Rocket started filing in," he explained, turning towards the two. "They're going to go battle Giovanni."

EV's eyes glinted with interest, and she trotted over to the humans to listen more intently. If there was going to be any ass-kicking, she wanted in.
Chance slowly followed her, his ears perking in interest.

Ellie got up, deciding that if they were going to get out of here, she'd need to borrow Lt. Surge's Raichu. Hopefully he wasn't busy with it in Vermilion City. She got up and went over to her PC, punching in codes and numbers until she saw a nice view on her father's Pokémon. Who would she temporarily take out of her team? Elouise was her weakest. She took the Maril's Pokéball and placed it hesitantly into the PC where it would be sent to storage. In return, Raichu's Pokéball was exposed. She stared at it in awe. She'd grown up with the Raichu; hopefully he'd listen to her. Was there anyone else she could take from the PC?
Erol was three levels stronger than Angelo, but she'd noticed how the Umbreon placed his Pokéball in the same pile as Flora's. The blond shook her head. "You've done enough," she sighed, rubbing his head. She watched as his ears flattened and she suddenly became overwhelmed with guilt. "You deserve a long rest, buddy."
Angelo glanced at EV, not satisfied with his trainer's decision. He let himself be cast back into his own Pokéball with ease though and placed into the PC where he was traded in for Erol the Mightyena.
Who else was there?

Note leaned against the wall, crossing his arms thoughtfully. "You know this city better than we do, Ellie. How many grunts do you think we'll have to fight before we get to the tower?"
EV's ears perked as Angelo was returned to his Pokéball, bus she said nothing. Tunes turned and picked up Chance, and she turned to watch her. "You're not going to want to be around for this, little guy," the girl cooed, before returning the Eevee to his Pokéball as well.

"Oh gees," Ellie grumbled, rolling her eyes skyward as to think of the numbers. "If he's at the top, I'm sure he has at least two stationed near the front and perhaps three or five in the lobby. Then we have to go up two flights of stairs to get to the top of the tower," she calculated, her brows furrowed. "And I'll bet he has the strongest grunts protecting him outside."

Note grimaced as he thought of the numbers. He had known from the beginning that this would be no easy task, but somehow he had thought there would not be so many grunts to battle.
"If we're going to have to face that many," Tunes murmured, "maybe we should split up, and meet near the top of the tower before Giovanni." She looked up at her older companions to see what they thought.

"Split up?" the teenager echoed, feeling a little wary on the idea. "These Rockets fight dirty. If one of us goes ahead then all the Grunts on the level they're on will gang up against that person," she chattered nervously, her eyes lit up in fear.

"I have to agree with Ellie on that one," Note admitted, turning back to his sister. "And we definitely don't need anyone getting caught."
Tunes pursed her lips. "But if our Pokémon are strong enough, we can do it!" she insisted.

Says the person with only two strong Pokémon!
"I just don't think it's a good idea," Ellie pressed, creased her eyebrows. "What's the point of splitting up anyway if we're all going to battle the same guy at the end? It isn't a race or anything and I don't want to risk getting in trouble along the way."
